A/N:  Are you guys liking the POV changes? I think they're adding an interesting depth to it all but its getting annoying I can totally stop lol. I've also been thinking about doing more flashbacks to explore deeping into your backstory. Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

Kurapika's words definitely left me in an... Odd state for lack of a better word but maybe I'm just feeling anxious because I have't been judged on my dish yet and Menchi is being incredibly tough on voting, giving most applicants a zero out of ten without even trying the food, meanwhile Buhara gave everyone a ten, just happy to be eating.

"Next!" Menchi harshly calls, once I notice that I'm next I quickly grab my plate and place it on the table that rests in front of them

My face doesn't match how I'm feeling at all. I stuff my ever so slightly trembling hands into my pockets as my face stay cold and calm. The oddest things get me anxious. My mind begins to wonder why my hands are shaking in this situation but I'm so calm in combat and a few other things.

FLASHBACK

Wing shoved me onto the ground once again, probably the sixth time in a row. Everytime he knocked me down he released his ill-mannered aura which shook me to my core. My legs were too shaky to get my footing and arms trembling to block his attack let alone throw my own.

"I suppose you're smart enough to understand the lesson I'm trying to teach you," He states, peering down at me through his blocky glasses, I nod quickly. "But I'm afraid that combat won't get it through. I need you to stay here the next few nights."

"F-Fine," I manage to get out as he walked away from me, once again releasing his aura that made me want to spill the contents of my stomach.

Timeskip

Its 9PM, the time Wing makes me go to bed each night under his training but he hasn't stopped releasing his aura, which has degraded from making me nauseous to making me unsettled. I curse my current survival reflex that refuses to let me sleep while the threat of danger is still around. Apparently my body doesn't know who the threat is coming from, a man who couldn't harm a fly due to his morals.

Timeskip

After one entire sleepless night I've become situated with his aura and the random spikes of it when something inconveniences him. He says that being introduced to a persons nen without having your own up is like walking through a blizzard naked but I've come to realize that's not what this lesson is about, since there's no way I could physically prepare myself for a enhancer's attack without blocking it with my own nen. This lesson was about making me fearless no matter who my opponent is or their intentions.

FLASHBACK OVER

Huh.. I guess it'll take a psychiatrist to take care of my everyday anxiety if Wing is the reason why I'm so comfortable in combat and most social situations.

"8/10"

"10/10!"

My eyes widen at the highest score anyone has gotten yet was appointed to me. Menchi yelled for the next person to come up and I quickly scurried to my brother and our friends, all of them getting 0's from Menchi.

Killua looked beyond pissed off because of his low score, his eyebrow twitching every few seconds. I think what made him the most upset is that I got a good score.

"H-How..." He mumbled, almost inaudible. His voice was somewhat angry and threatening.

"How.. What?" I ask, knowing he was confused on how I got my score, I suppose his threatening demeanor has me asking stupid questions.

"How'd you get a better score than me?!" He yelled, and I couldn't think fast enough to try and suppress a smile that instantly came from seeing his anger placed in such a ridiculous place.

As soon as I was about to reply with a snarky comment Leorio piped up. "It is simply because she is a female. And its common sense that all girls do their best work in the kitchen!"

I couldn't exactly tell if he was joking or not but all jokes have a little truth behind them, i.e Leorio most likely believes in the sexist comment he just said.

I wound back a kick and released it to Leorio's shin for the stupid comment he just said acting as though it was some sort of revelation. He quickly kneeled down, grasping his shin that was undoubtedly in excruciating pain.

"That was sexist, you dumbass!" I yell at him, out of the corner of my eye I see the three boys I'm accompanied by widen their eyes at my sudden act of violence toward Leorio but the fact that none of them cared to intervene told me they thought this was appropriate response to what came out of Leorio's mouth.

"But it's true! Y-You proved it!" He yells still grasping his shin. I guess he didn't take the hint.

The next kick went to his nose.

Timeskip

After I... accidentally broke Leorio's nose our food hunters asked us to make a dish not one of us had ever heard of, since it was from another far off land that culture isn't widespread. That such infuriated Menchi, and she threatened to make us all fail; which made everyone extremely angry that they could be missing out on their license only because they couldn't make one stupid little dish. The optimistic side of me, meaning Gon, kept me calm. Telling me there's no way that the association would let such a large amount of people fail for such a reason.

And of course, because of plot armor, he was right.

A/N: Sorry for taking so long for the update n all that, quarantine is kicking my mental health's ass so I haven't had motivation to right all that much. Also I know a lot of people don't like for there to be 4th wall breaks in their serious xreader books but dw the ending line was just a 1 time joke. Anyway, thank you for reading. All my love! <3
