Today has turned out to be a long day for Supergirl and she hasn't even had lunch yet.

To start, when she woke up, she was called to an apartment building fire and she barely got everyone out in time due to the speed the flames were moving. Then, after she finally got to work, Alex texted her saying there was a robbery downtown with alien weapons and they needed Supergirl. When she got to the bank, she took a little beating before she got everything under control and handed the thieves over to the DEO for questioning and containment.

Finally, right before lunch there was another attack at the waterfront that needed Supergirl's attention and she had to cancel lunch with Lena. She arrived and was immediately weakened by kryptonite. She barely had enough strength to stop the group of men that were causing the trouble and she was too late to save the family of aliens they were attacking. By the time Alex got to the scene Supergirl was nowhere to be seen but there was kryptonite and a dead family so Alex gave her sister some space.

After stopping the bad guys, Kara took to the clouds to be alone. Cadmus can't be allowed to see Supergirl upset and the clouds have always made her feel relaxed so that's where she is. This time though it doesn't calm her down because she can't stop thinking. She knows she can't save everyone but she can't help blaming herself for this loss. Maybe if she didn't start as Supergirl National City wouldn't have the problem of Cadmus. Maybe all the alien refugees would still be safe. Maybe that family of Phorians would still be alive. Maybe she should stop being Supergirl because she's doing more bad than good.

Kara knows her thoughts are dangerous but she can't stop them. She decides she needs to feel or do something so she listens to the city for a crime to stop or an alien to fight, but she finds nothing. The one-time she's looking for a fight and of course there isn't one. She screams into the sky as hot tears fall down her cheeks and she let's go of her powers, falling back toward National City. She needs something but she can't figure out what. As she nears the buildings, she sees L-Corp and she thinks of Lena.

Kara told Lena about her double identity a while ago and Lena was happy that her friend trusted her enough to share the secret, even if the CEO had been able to figure it out on her own. As Kara's thoughts wander to ones of Lena she stops falling and is once again floating in the air. Once she is level-headed enough to function normally again, Supergirl flies over to an ally behind L-Corp. She quickly changes into her Kara Danvers clothes and wipes the tears from her face while she takes some deep breaths before entering the building.

Kara passes security and gets into the elevator clicking the top floor button for Lena's office. When the doors open, she gets out and walks over to Jess's desk, "Hey is Lena busy right now? We were supposed to have lunch earlier and I need to talk to her."

"She's just doing paperwork; you can go ahead and go in." Jess responds noticing Kara's mood and carefully asks, "I don't want to intrude but are you okay?"

Kara swallows and closes her eyes to relax down before answering, "Yeah I'll be okay. Thanks Jess."

"Of course. You can let Lena know she doesn't have anything important until tomorrow afternoon." Jess tells the blonde softly knowing that Kara needs Lena more right now than L-Corp does. After The blonde leaves, Jess cancels all of Lena's meetings for the rest of the day and the next morning and sends an email over to CatCo informing Snapper Kara will be with Lena for the rest of the day.

Kara makes her way to Lena's door and knocks before she cracks it open and sticks her head in a somber voice asks, "Hey is now a bad time?"

"No, come in." Lena says standing up and walking around her desk worried at the sad tone of the hero's voice.
