Chapter 02

The situation finally calmed down with The Police and the rest of the fire department showing up on scene. Maki couldn't stop staring at Ren as she fixed up her clothes.

"That sure was scary", Sister Iris sighed of relief.

Captain Obi walked over to Ren. "Glad to see you finally made it Ren!", Obi greeted with a Big grin. "Thank you sir, I'm happy I could help", Ren thanked.

"Yes if you didn't Maki would've been injured or worse", He said. "But", His voice got serious, " you could've put yourself in danger as well, Don't ever do that again". "Yes sir!", She shrieked. 'Gosh Captain sure is scary when he wants to be'.

After talking with Captain Obi she turned and noticed Maki looking at her, and decided to walk over.

"Hello there", Ren greeted. Maki looked up at her. "Oh hey", Maki greeted back.

"I hope your injures aren't too bad". "Oh this?", Maki looked down at her wrapped arm, "It's fine! It could've been worst if you didn't save me at that moment".

"Sorry I forgot to introduce myself, My Name is Maki Oze 1st Class fire soldier", She said introducing herself.

Ren felt her heart skip a beat at that moment. 'What the heck was that?', Ren thought confused. 'Well that was...weird'. "And this guy over here is-", "Shinra?".

Ren interrupted her and looked at the boy next to her, recognizing him. "Shinra is that you?", She repeated. Shinra analyzed the girl till it finally clicked in his head.

"Ren, Is that you?", He asked. His smile appeared on his face.

"It is you! I can't believe it!", He exclaimed happily. Ren Gave Shinra a Huge hug, laughing happily.

"I can't believe your actually here! It's so great too see you again!", Ren cheered, still hugging him.

"Yeah thanks and all Ren but I sort of injured my back and your hugging too tight", Shinra choked out.

"Oops sorry", Ren said letting go. "Do you guys know each other?", Maki asked them.

"Yeah me and Ren attended the academy Together, we were in the same Class and we Became good friends", He explained to her.

"That's right!", Ren added. Before they could Continue talking Captain gathered everyone.

"Great job everyone!, let's head back!", He announced. "Sir!".

Back at Company 8 Cathedral

After everybody finished getting dressed in there Civilian clothing they all gathered in Obi's office where Ren was waiting with them.

"Alright looks like everyone's here", Obi said, "Now let me introduce our newest member, properly this time".

"Let's start at the beginning, Company 8 Crew-members this is our newest Rookie Ren Hoshi. She's a 3rd Generation like Arthur and Shinra and as some of you may know or not, instead of Regular red flames her happen to be Black", He informed them.

"Black flames?, Wow it seems 3rd Generations are getting stronger and more unique", Maki awed.

"I want everyone to treat her as Family, that's it your all Dismissed", He finished. Everyone saluted and we're leaving, but Obi stopped Ren. "Ren you stay back, we need to talk to you", He said to her.

Maki looked back at her curious about what he wanted but she left, shutting the door behind her. "What is it you need, sir?", She said respectfully.
