[20:44✧wednesday]
the pair ran through hallways and staircases, hoping in vain to see the shadow of a staff or a teacher. crossing their fingers, they headed towards the gates to test their luck and see if the guards had forgotten to lock the gates or not. however, we do not always get what we want.
"why did they lock them so early, don't they have to check if there are people left in the school before leaving? how can i get home now," seungmin whined as they stood by the gates, not knowing what to do.
"probably because we didn't booked the practice room, so no one knew we were still using the room. don't worry puppy, i'll find a way to return you home before your curfew," hyunjin flashed the troubled brunet a comforting smile when he was walking along the high fence surrounding the school grounds made of iron bars.
out of the blue, hyunjin grabbed onto the iron bars and held his body against the iron fence. seeing what the other boy was trying to do, seungmin's eyes widen in terror, running after the black-haired.
"hyunjin, don't! i can't climb over the fence, it's too high and i'll rip my trousers!"
yet hyunjin did not listen to seungmin's protests and jumped over in a swift move, being blessed with perfect athleticism by god. with a playful smirk on his face, he gave the boy left within the fenced area a wink and ran away, leaving the boy without a second thought.
seungmin's jaw dropped as his eyes followed hyunjin's retreating figure.
did he just-
yes minnie, that jerk just left you alone at school when he said he would get you out! told you he's nothing good. why did you even trust him in the first place?!
helplessness, fright, and betrayal were what seungmin was experiencing at that moment. he couldn't quite believe the cocky bastard had left him just like that. he cursed at himself for ignoring the voice in his head. for replacing his brain with his heart.
with the anxiousness plus all the pent up frustration from his jinxed day, the emotional rollercoaster was too much for him. he felt tears welling up in his eyes, eventually spilling over. seungmin wiped his tears away with the sleeves of his school uniform as he sniffed, feeling the cold night-wind slicing his cheeks like a dagger.
he wished for the tears to stop, not wanting to waste them on someone who was not worthy of them, but the never-ending waterfalls did not listen.
screw you, hwang hyunjin.
