Luke
You could feel the fear in the room. Ashton and Calum's legs were bouncing, Michael was running his hands over his face and I was pacing. All four of us had puffy red eyes from crying and tear stained cheeks. I looked to her family. Her mother hadn't stopped crying, neither had Alana. The two were holding each other tightly in an embrace as they cried into one another.
Kelly sat with his elbows resting on his knees and his head in his hands. He somehow has been the only person who has kept themselves together. Kaden and Johnny were standing next to their father, tears silently falling down their faces. The only noise heard between this group were the cries and sniffles coming from the two girls and Kaden.
"Luke, come on mate, sit down. You've been pacing for the past two hours."Calum stood up, placing a hand on my shoulder as we walked back over to our seats. I sat down and ran my hands over my face. I looked at Cal and sighed nervously. "Cal, what if she-" He cut me off by shaking his head at me.
"Don't. We need to stay positive. Sadie is a strong girl. She'll make it." I sighed and leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes and taking in a shakey breath for a minute. "Okay." He patted my shoulder and leaned back too. He kept his eyes on Alana the whole time.
Another two hours go by, Johnny was now pacing back and forth. All of us had stopped crying and had just been sitting in silence. Alana's dad and brother got here about thirty minutes ago. Alana was snuggled in between the two of them. Kelly and Cassandra had been sitting, hands held tightly together as they prayed for the survival of their precious daughter.
Everyone in the room was filled with anxiety. Now it's just a waiting game. We all want to be able to do something, anything to help her, but it's a waiting game now. We've done all that we could. We all waited in silence. No one dare spoke a word to anyone, in fear we would break down again.
"Alright, family and friends for miss Sadie Slater?" As soon as her name left the doctors mouth, every single one of us stood up in a rush. The doctor was stunned a little at the sudden rush of twelve people.
"Right, okay, can I get the parents please." Kelly and Cassandra walked up to the doctor and she took the two away to talk to them. The rest of us stood close together, anxiously waiting to hear the news.
Kelly and Cass walked back with a look of relief. "She's going to be okay." Everyone sighed thankfully at the words. Cassandra rushed over and brought me and Alana in a big hug. Everyone gave out big hugs to each other, letting a few happy and relieved tears slip.
"She's out of surgery but is still really out of it. We're going to go in and we'll grab the rest of you when she wakes up okay?" Everyone nodded, I was still standing with a worried face. Kelly caught notice of this and gave me a light smile. "Luke, why don't you come in with us." I shook my head at his offer.
"Oh no no I don't want to impose." He lightly laughed at my nervousness. "Luke, I wasn't asking." He said, placing a hand on my shoulder and giving me a small smile. I returned it with my own, following the family into Sadie's room, sharing a nod with Cal as I left.
We got to room 304. Cassandra was the first to enter then Kelly, then me and the brothers.
Once I stepped in, I instantly felt sad and sick. My eyes found there way to my beautiful girlfriend and my lips parted as my eyes filled with tears. Cassandra let out a small gasp as she begun tearing up again. We all stood in shock looking at Sadie's sleeping figure.
I knew the attack was bad, I was there, but nothing in the entire universe could prepare anyone to see this.
I covered my mouth and held back a cry as I saw the wound. Though it had been wrapped up, there was a big chunk of Sadie's side completely missing. Her arm had a bite taken out of it too. Kaden came over and placed a hand on my shoulder, we shared a fearful look as tears fell from both of our eyes.
