Your POV

The words "In my office now", put together, is a statement everyone hates hearing from Fowler, and when I'm called in, I start wondering what sort of trouble I've gotten into this time.

I take a deep breath, preparing for the worst as I enter the captain's office, he's not pissed thank god, I can tell because his eye brows aren't knitted together in scowl, and his lips aren't furrowed. Instead... he looks oddly content.

"Take a seat please detective." Fowler suggests, I take a seat and make myself comfortable in front of him.

"Firstly... I'm happy to promote you to Lieutenant." He says, he cups his hands together on the desk, I nod.

"And you will finally be getting a partner."

"As long as it's not Gavin I'm fine with it." I say, I've never had a partner, I technically wasn't even working with my dad and Connor with the android cases last year.

Connor was my best friend, we had it good as a family. Until he was deemed defective, and I never saw him again.

"It will be here shortly." Says Fowler, I nod but... "Wait. You said 'it'." I say confused, leaning forward, pricking my ears.

"I know." Fowler says, I stand up slowly, "You mean. I'm getting an android?" I say.

Fowler nods, "It's the prototype RK900, he will help you with cases and investigations. And CyberLife figured that you were the most compatible person to be it's partner." Fowler says.

"Wow that's..." I begin, taking a seat again, "Believe me captain. I'm not complaining, but, how do you expect me to deal with a android?" I ask.

Fowler shrugs, "There is nothing I can do Y/n, I know how hard it is with your dad. You worry about him, but you have all the money from your mother's inheritance. Can't you like... pay for someone to care for Hank?" Fowler asks.

"I can't just put my dad with some stranger to work out his life problems. He still isn't over Connor's death, you really think he can be helped now? He still drinks, day and night." I say, and then feel a pang if guilt for telling Fowler how I've given up on my father so early. But it's been a year and dad still isn't over it.

The guilt trip takes me to, sadness lake, depression valley and the sorrowful mountains, before dropping me back off in reality.

"Fine. I'll take the android as a partner, but I can't promise I'll work perfectly with it." I tell him, before walking out without being dismissed.

I go to my desk, which is my father's old one, before he was... fired.

A part of me feels a grudge on Fowler for firing my dad, but another part of me feels like he's taken a giant weight off of my dad's back. Even if he isn't earning any money.

I send my father money to keep him situated, I usually do most everything at his house for him, everyday when I'm finished with work, I go to his house, where he's usually hung over, I make sure he and Sumo eat, I tidy the house a bit and put my dad in bed.

Every single day.

And when I get to my home, I call him, and I end up leaving a voice mail every time, which he usually opens, but never responds. I know he hears me.

I'm so lost in my thoughts, I at first don't notice the tall figure standing a step from my desk, the white uniform catches my eye and I look up with a yelp.

His jacket reads RK900 and has a serial number underneath, he is tall and looks almost exactly like Connor, except his jawline is sharper, his eyebrows lay lower, and his eyes are a different color.
