One Week TimeSkip-
Y/N's POV
Today I could finally go back out on the field, finally I could go on calls and kick some criminal scum ass. I missed it very much.
I hopped out of bed that morning before Nines did, almost trampling Buddy in the process. "Sorry." I whispered to Buddy who just barked as I grabbed a pillow and smacked Nines in the head with it. "Wake up sleepy head!" I called excitingly, "today's my first day back on the field!" I cried as Nines huffed, taking his pillow and covering his tired face with it."Get up sleeping beauty." I giggled as I landed on the bed next to him, his LED blinking blue. He huffed, "If you call me sleeping beauty ever again, I'll start calling you meat-sack." He grunted. "Get up then, grumpy." I said as I shoved him playfully.
I sat back off the bed and went into the kitchen to feed Spade and Buddy. I fed the two animals and on my way back to the bedroom, Spade followed me, nearly tripping me on the way back.I grunted as Spade walked over to my bed and jumped onto Nines, who stroked his cat thoughtfully. "You should teach your animal how to not trip people." I told my love as a I looked for new cloths before I took a shower. Nines chuckled and looked at me, "I can't stop her from doing what she loves." He said with a smug expression.
I shrug as I get my cloths for the day, I glance at Nines' current uniform on the dresser, "When are you going to get promoted to detective?" I asked him, "so you can start wearing regular cloths?"Nines shrugged as he sat up on his elbows, "When Fowler decides it." He told me as I sighed and nodded, before going to take a shower. Hopefully he'd be promoted soon, I didn't like the uniform. I did at first because it looked nice, but then I saw the blue triangle on it and decided I didn't like it. It just reminded me that he wasn't entirely human. I always knew this, but my mind didn't always remind me of it like his uniform does.
Time Skip at work because I love you-
I walked into the department with a stride in my step and a smile on my face, Nines trailing behind me with a small grin, he liked seeing me happy. I danced by Gavin's desk who stared at me oddly, while still smiling, I flipped him off and spun around before landing in my chair. He opened his mouth to speak, but quickly closed it. He probably thought I was on some sort of drug.
Fowler was glad to have me back out there, I was happy to be back out there too. After a bit, I received a text from my dad, who has been doing a lot better recently, he stopped drinking as much and he even got his hair cut and trimmed down his beard. I'm so happy for his improvements.
Even though I was adopted, I would continue to call Hank my father, and my last name to be 'Anderson'."The text read, "Be careful out there today sweetheart, I know you're excited but take it easy. Love you"
I smiled down at my phone and replied, "Love you too, and I will be careful I promise"
Nines tilted his head at me, but didn't say anything as I put my phone back down. The rest of the day was mostly uneventful, I went to go get a cup of water at the break room when Tina decided she wanted to talk to me.
"Remember Adam?" Tina asked, I nodded and took a sip of my drink, "Of course I do, the damn bastard." I cursed.
"Well, he escaped the department jail cells days ago before his trial was put together. No one knows where he is, I ask that you and Nines be extremely careful." Tina told me, I nodded, "I'm always careful." I tell her, but Tina still looked worried."Relax Tina, I doubt Adam will do anything." I tell her as I take another sip of my cold water, feeling the cold liquid slide down my throat soothed me. I was finally back at work, answering calls, dad was getting better, Megan's mental state is improving and Connor was helping Markus with things in New Jericho, a whole side of Michigan dedicated to android living spaces. Not far from Detroit. Things were looking better for everyone.
"But Y/N, Adam was sent to a therapist after his attempted murder of Nines," Tina began, I feared what she would say next.
"Adam was diagnosed with ASPD." She mumbled.I sit my water down and look at her, "Thats... it can't be true. He's not a psycho Tina. He has empathy-"
"No. You don't understand. When Chris interrogated Adam after you were shot, he said he didn't regret pulling the trigger. He's crazy Y/N, he hardly talked to anyone at the department, he may have felt sorry when he first shot you, but something snapped in him later. He's insane. Believe me." Tina practically begged for me to understand.I sighed and nodded, "I'll stand guard." I tell Tina as I pick up my water and head back to my desk, which Nines questions our conversation.
I tell him about Adam and how he was diagnosed with.
"Adam being a psychopath. Well, an obsessive one. He never stopped staring at you Y/N. I knew something was wrong from the start. The day we met I became protective." Nines told me. "Aw," I coo at him, "that's sweet."He smiled softly before continuing, "Adam showed signs of forced regret when he shot you. Perhaps he meant the bullet for either one of us." Nines said, "to get revenge on one of us."
"So, Adam is a yandere?" Gavin spoke up, hearing our conversation. "Whats that?" Tina asks as she comes over to her desk, Gavin ignores her at first and continues, "So, Y/N is Adam's senpai?""Shut up Gavin, this is serious." I snap at him, "Chill, I'm sure if he's a true psycho he'll lash out in public and get caught before he can hurt you or your plastic boyfriend." Gavin rolled his eyes as he took a sip of his coffee.
I knew Gavin was an idiot, but he made some sense, but what if Adam just ran off? And never came back to Detroit? That would be good, but if he's a true psycho, he might not stop hunting me or Nines down.
