As you saw the sunset from the windows looking into your apartment- you suddenly felt the urge to eat something. You realized that you haven't eaten since breakfast. Today was a busy day. You chose to grab some macaroni and cheese from the pantry in your kitchen, pouring it into a pot, and filling it up with water. "Hey, Ethan-" You were interrupted by Ethan, "Can I have some, ﹍﹍?" He exclaims. You were startled by his energetic question. You nod and wink at him subtly. He grins, continuing to move back all the boxes. Of course, he didn't want to put them away just then, it was too much hassle on a Friday evening.

You added some seasonings, to spice it up a little. Ethan knew you were the absolute BEST at making macaroni and cheese. The easiest recipe, made by the best chef. You added some vegetables into it, so you and Ethan can get some nutrition out of it. As you poured out the macaroni and cheese onto the two places on top of the kitchen counter, Ethan walked up to you, leaning his elbows onto the edge of the counter. He rests his face on the palm of his hands.

"So... How was your day?" He muttered out, as he slowly got weary. His eyes were heavy, but occasionally looking up at you from the macaroni cheese. You push the bowl over the counter to where he was, with a spoon already in the bowl. "Good. Been just walking around. Got a job interview." You smirk, picking at your bowl noodles with your spoon- wait, are they noodles? Yes, you remember looking up this question two weeks ago. Macaroni and cheese are noodles. What an obscure thought process, them being noodles. Oh, you got sidetracked, let's focus on whatever Ethan is saying.

"Oh- funnnn" Ethan smirks. You nod, finally taking a mouthful of the macaroni.

As you guys finished the macaroni, setting the dishes into the sink, you sighed- walking over to the window in the small hallway in your apartment. The sunset was almost picture-perfect. It was quite peculiar. The fact that you can see such colors in the sky, it was beautiful. So, so beautiful. Ethan opened the front door, a man walking in.

"Tyler!" You looked back at Tyler, walking in. "Finally, we were waiting for you" You smile. "Sorry, I was busy doing some police work." Tyler huffs, hanging his jacket on the coat rack next to the door. "It's all good- I understand. Are you hungry? I made some extra macaroni for you in the fridge" You walk up to the kitchen, leaning against the counter for a second. "No, but thank you. Had a late lunch with some colleagues of mine" He responds, You nod to his statement. He does have some cool friends, they do this every now and then.

"Okay, well... it's in there whenever you need it. I'm gonna go to bed" You wave, they nod. "Goodnight, ﹍﹍" Ethan smiles. You nod, yawning silently. As you closed your bedroom door, you collapsed onto the bed. More walking tomorrow. Maybe you'll find something new? The possibilities are endless.

(A/N: Hey! Thanks for reading so far. The next chapter will be where we start on the nitty-gritty. We just needed a proper introduction to some side characters and plot. Thanks so much for supporting this novel so far, I can't believe we have almost 15 views. <3)
