It was a child's room, no babies' room. It had a vintage crib- that had tons of blankets and stuffed animals. There were childlike decorations and paintings around the small room. It was beautiful, cute- but old. Has anyone ever been in here recently? Has a baby even slept here? He turned to see you, surprised.
"____, what-" You stopped him. "This is nice." Is all you can come out- the tips of your fingers touching the walls that had a blue pink and white wallpaper on them. "You did this, made this all- didn't you?" You glance at him, then back at the wall of cute stuffed animals and toys.
"I didn't want anyone to see this. Not for a while at least." He turns away from your gaze- staring out from a window down to the forest below. "No one goes down here- so I thought it would be perfect." "To have a baby?" "You don't understand, ____." "Yes, I do understand. I'm capable of finding you out, Dark." You say sarcastically.
"You want to be able to give love, teach, and comfort a new being - but don't know-how. So you keep it a secret- hoping nobody will find out by hiding it in the deep depths of a mansion. You're just waiting for the perfect someone to tell and-" You pause, realizing that it's you. It's you who he wants to tell.
"You're such a smart, clever being- _____. A human being too! I would think you're some kind of angel if I didn't know." He turned around to see you right behind him. You didn't mean to be that close- as you were just looking down into the crib- but he rubbed his thumb on your cheek. "But I know you're smart enough to say no to that- too." He sighed in defeat.
You knew that too. You couldn't say yes- not this fast, and because you didn't feel the same. Everyone knew you had your mind and eyes on someone else. But, you didn't realize who- until now. Damien, of course. It's been him since the first time you opened the door. The day he greeted you with such kind words.
"Come on darling - let me take you back to them," Dark said softly. He was on the verge of tears from the harsh rejection - but didn't want to show it. His breath hitched every now and then - pitch black tears in the corners of his eyes. This may have been his key to pure happiness. Being able to care for someone like you - and a baby... but that was taken away.
But with that- you know he would do anything for you. For your happiness. And it shows what he has been doing. You wrapped your arm around him as you walked out of the room and down the hall- across the bridge and back to the main part of the building.
You heard voices down in the foyer- some calm and some raging. Dark hustled you and looked over the balcony that was above. It was Celine held down on a couch by Damien - and Wilford absolutely losing it. You let go of Dark, hurrying down the steps.
"What the fuck did you do?!" Wilford screamed at her face. His voice a bit raspy, booming down the marbled walls. "Will- we can talk about this civilly..." Mark said- pulling on his shoulder for him to back up. Wilford submitted to his force, taking in a deep breath and harshly letting it out.
"Now - we can talk. Oh, I was wondering when you were coming back- ___!" Mark smiled, then it faded as he remembered- Celine is still here. "Dark- can you grab the list of questions? She seemed to have come early." Mark spoke calmly. Dark nodded- walking up the stairs. You could tell that the sadness he was sinking into turned into rage, but he was trying to suppress it.
"I remember a few of them-" You mutter, looking down at Celine. Celine wasn't scared- she was startled. "Why does Mark have 3 other 'alters'?" Your question. "My mother and I were into magic- and we wanted to do a small little spell on him, to make him a 'demon' for a day... but that backfired. Turned into creating multiple bodies- whole new people just from Mark."
Dark adjoined into the conversation, "And if Mark dies- we die?". "Well- no. As you all are now separate entities- yet connected through emotions and... sensations. Nothing too physical." Celine answered. "Why did you make Damien housebound- and why did u make Mark forget about Will?" You wondered.
"Damien once knew about the whole situation- so my mom made him forget about the spell and never let him leave. I trained him like a little puppy." She mocked. Damien gave her a side-eye while pulling her by the waist to hold her on the couch. "If you were able to undo this curse- would you?"
"No. Unless you have human sacrifice, like a whole body. I don't know why my mother was so invested in human sacrifices- but that's what she wanted I guess." Celine rambled. "W-who would be the human sacrifice?" You muttered- looking around at the group. Dark would do it, if only he was human.
Damien can't do it as he is the one cursed, same with Mark. It leaves Wilford and... Celine. It was the easiest answer to come up with - just kill Celine. But would it be that easy? Forcing Damien and Wilford to let go of the burden they have? The love of their life? Whether they were over it or not - it would be hard to kill her.
But for Wilford- the love had a very faded line with hatred and rage, so it would be easier for him. "I'll do it," Will grumbled, looking around the room to see our facial expressions. "Do- do what?" Celine panicked. Dark chuckled, barely audible as he shook his head in amusement. Oh boy- this will be fun.
"You're done for, Madam Celine." Wilford grinned.
