Chapter 3

I slipped and my blade crashed to the floor a ways from me.

"Ha! Well looky, looky. Seems I have you at a bit of a disadvantage." Hector was smiling the damned smile that said I've-got-a-way-for-you-to-decide-right-now. He struck me in the shoulder and I grunted to prevent any further noise that would give him the satisfaction. All fights were ceased despite my efforts to deter my pain.

"ALYSSA!!" My warriors had worried looks on their face as to where Hector’s posse had looks of triumph. Hector tuts at me and I’m aggravated even more. "One more step and the next place my weapon touches is her heart, that is if she even has one."

Adriel, Jeremy, and Tony had a low resonating growl from within their throats.

I said, putting as much venom in my voice as I could, "So, this is how you fight? Kill me while I'm down. Even you know that killing a warrior while they're unarmed and grounded is against Warrior Law and it's shows how desperate you are!" The pain in my shoulder was subsiding but become a pestering pain. My wound was healing, trying to find the opening in my chest but only healing around the sword.

"No. But it's always nice to get a reaction like this from your warriors." Hector twisted his sword causing a gasp and blood to sputter from my wound and mouth.

"Bastard!" The word came from my warriors, and me in sync and sharp.

"Hmmm, kind of like that reaction," Hector chuckles," now about that decision."

"Why the hell is it so important to you?" I was beginning to heal again, yet it was the same outcome, just around the sword. "Ahhh!" Hector pulled out his sword before twisting it once more.

"Get up! Get up now!" I felt the pain in my chest subside but my head became dizzy.

WHAT THE HELL. IT'S BARELY CLASSIFIED AS A WOUND, AND I'M ABOUT TO FAINT.

I stumbled, and Adriel barely caught me before I hit the ground, ripping my shirt by my wound in a bad attempt.

"Wha-What did you do to me," I say though I'm sure it didn't sound that way when it came out of my mouth.

"Oh, well, my blade was dipped in a very rare venom. It doesn't kill, but it paralyzes you. Only allowing you to breathe and view what’s in front of you," Hector spits the words at me.

My legs were weakening, and then they buckled and I fell forward.

It was happening in a blur. Hector’s warriors were the first to attack. Adriel laid me on my side just in time for him to block the blue and gold sword that was aimed at his calf. As he battles Rozaeous in a fight for life, Alayah slinked her way toward Jeremy.

"Well, well, well, looks like I get the cute one. Too bad I don't get to keep you," she says as she slithers closer to my warrior. Her blade was tainted with red, either from blood or a poor pattern that splattered at the tip.

"I know I'm hot, but for you to go for someone on the opposite side of good and evil, is desperate for even you," Jeremy retorts matter-of-factly. She coiled like a snake and hurled herself at him. Jeremy matches her blows, I see an opening for him to end the fight. He didn't. He kept swinging his sword, reveling in his power, forgetting that his opponent was equally matched.

I want to yell at him for being so big headed, but I can't. My body betrays me, as all I can do is be helpless and watch. Adriel was fighting Rozaeous behind me. I couldn't see anything, but from what I could hear, he was in the exact situation. Blades are clashing everywhere. And then I saw who was going against Tony. Azrael.

NO GET AWAY FROM HIM!!!

Tony holds his ground, but I could see that he was unsure of this fight.

THE FEELING IN MY LEGS ARE COMING BACK.

Azrael walked towards him with a smile, "Why are you all alone?"

" I'm not alone. As you see I have 3 comrades," Tony says sternly, but I can hear the quivers in his voice.

FEELING IN MY CORE IS BACK.NOW THAT IT IS I CAN'T LET HECTOR KNOW.

" Well from what I can tell, 2 are currently in battle and 1 is currently useless," Azrael retorts with hatred in her voice.

NO WHY HER.?WHY IS SHE HERE? ONLY A LITTLE LONGER TONY!

Azrael pulls her sword from its sheath and moves it in the light of the auditorium. The way the light catches her sword, it was as if it was meant for show.

Tony caught the sword in a glance and began to pull his weapon out of its own sheath rather gracefully despite what he saw.

"I'm not going to lose," Tony says," so stop with the antics!"

HIS ANGER IS GETTING THE BEST OF HIM! IF HE LETS IT HE'LL END UP LIKE ME, OR WORSE!

Then a flash of white begins to occur, and I know that the fight of life or death has occurred.

Hector slinks over to me and kneels.

He puts his sword to my throat, and I make sure not to eye it to closely.

I WILL NOT LET THIS IMBECILE GET THE BEST OF ME!

"Hmm, you have something I want," Hector stands but keeps his sword in place. "Oh yes, the answer. But wait, you can't talk. How will I ever get the answer? I could always take you with me, no, I could kill one of your warriors and make the process shorter."

His sword begins to linger below the base of my throat. Then I notice, my shirt is ripped slightly over my chest.

JUST LIKE ANY OTHER GUY. HE SEES ANY SORT OF UNCOVERED SKIN AND HE THINKS HE HAS THE RIGHT TO LOOK.

The thought of him looking at my most private places pisses me off even more. I have to work harder this time to not let him receive a wanted reaction.

FEELING IN MY ARMS IS BACK.

I thought this numbness was supposed to last longer.

I guess my body is fighting the venom harder than Hector thought it would.

JUST A LITTLE LONGER, AND I CAN HELP YOU GUYS!!!

Hector coughs his attention away, "But which one would I kill? Adriel is the smartest. Jeremy is the strongest. Tony’s the fastest to react. Which one would you prefer?"

MY LIPS CAN MOVE NOW. I CAN FINALLY MOVE.

I jump, surprising Hector and knocking him off balance. Because of the shuffling of feet, fights are distracted, and a fatal mistake happens.
