Chapter 11
Alana
I don't know how long I've been in his embrace, I could stay like this forever. Though this desire is bubbling within me I know I have to get him back to his room.
"C'mon. You need to rest. We'll have time to talk later," I state as I pull myself apart from him. I drag him up and we walk toward the basement stairs. We walk together
I open the doors and a chill climbs my back. What’s wrong with this stairway? It feels so...so alien. I feel Daniel go stiff beside me.
"You feel it to, huh," he whispers.
"Yeah. I don't know what it is, but I don't like it," I reply, not sure what to do .
I walk ahead of him, prying him off my arms.
The air around the stairs is cold and I get the feeling of death. I hear a creak on the steps and I quickly pull my sword from its sheath, under my clothing.
"Wh-what's going on?" I hear Dalin shout to me.
"I don't know, but it's not good. Stay down here in the gym," I say back to him, trying to sound at ease with the situation. I don't need him to worry about this.
There's a boy in the middle of the stairs, running for the stair's exit. I climb the steps with ease, taking two at a time. I notice there's someone with him. I can't tell if it's male or female but the senses I'm getting aren't good. When they reach the exit they bolt for it. They're fast, but not as fast as me. I run with my sword as safely as I can, careful not to cut myself.
I end up in front of them. It's a boy and a girl. The boy has short blond hair with ocean blue eyes. He's wearing dark blue jeans and a plain white T-shirt. The girl is a brunette with brown eyes. She's wearing skinny jeans with a bright yellow jacket.
They're panting and their clothes are out of place. Their hair is everywhere, like they were rolling around on a shaggy carpet.
OH HELL. ARE YOU SERIOUS?
"We're sorry. We didn't know, err, we didn't know you'd be down there," says the girl, trying her hardest to avoid eye contact.
Adriel comes tumbling down the hall with Tony on his tail.
"What the hell happened? We felt you were in distress," states Adriel breathless.
"Nothing. These kids led me on a goose chase. They were down there in the basement stairs playing hooky," I explain. "Take them back to their quarters"
I turn to the kids before they leave, "Why were down there?"
"Well, there isn't a lot of time to be together because of curfew and classes. So we sneak out of bed a few nights in a month and have sessions," the boy reasons getting flustered with his explanation.
UGH, GROSS.
"Yeah, um just don't go out pass curfew," I command in an awkward voice. I scratch my head, not sure how to deal with the situation.
"Well, we were about to leave but something creeped us out. It felt like something or someone was watching us," says the girl as she readjusts her clothes and hair. She looks at the boy and he nods in agreement. "And then we saw a figure at the bottom of the stairs, but it turned out to be you."
"So," I begin to talk and remember what I've done. " Shit, shit, shit!"
I run back down the hall to the basement stairs.
From a distance I hear Adriel command Tony to take the kids back to their rooms. I soon hear footsteps behind me and know that my Warrior is following me.
