Chapter 5

I stretch as I stand. I listen to my joints pop as I reawaken my sleeping bones. I think about his answer, 'as long as you're a danger'. "Adriel, what happened when my dark side took over?"

His head snaps up, his eyes dark. He takes a deep breath but says nothing. "You really wanna know? It's, it's not going to be easy to hear," he's looking at the wall again. This time I look with him. There's a bloodstain on the wall.

I DID IT. I CAN TELL. THE LOOK ON ADRIEL'S FACE SAYS IT ALL.

Adriel watches me as I take in the sight.

"Is that Azrael's blood?" I look from the stain to Azrael's lifeless body.

"You noticed, huh. No. That's not Azrael's blood," Adriel looks at me, studying my face. "It's Hector's blood. You didn't kill him, but you wounded him pretty bad."

I look at him in disbelief.

THERE'S NO WAY I COULD HAVE HURT HECTOR. HE'S ONE OF THE CLASSIFIED WARRIOR 5.

The Warrior 5 was a group of Warriors before the war happened. It consisted of the best ranked. The highest position being shared between me and another, two-Hector, three-Adriel, four-Azrael, and five-Tony. And below us were Jeremy, Alayah, and Rozaeous, in that order. I've managed to kill one and severely injure the other. Hector and I were always competing for Rank 1. There were a few times when he accomplished his goal, but it never failed that I would regain my title shorty after. When Hector wasn't trying to take my title, I shared it with a person that dared call himself a man of honor.

I just can't believe it. Hector. We've always been evenly matched.

"I want you to tell me everything that happened while my other side took over," I demand.

Adriel sighs then says," Well I think you'd better sit," then he begins.

Adriel

Alyssa stood slowly. The air around her swirls with darkness. Her hair is turning a darkly color and grows every second.

I KNOW THIS, I'VE SEEN IT BEFORE. HER DARK SIDE HAS TAKEN OVER.

My breathing has gotten deeper. I want to take a step toward her to bring her back, but I know the outcome of battling her dark side.

She takes a step toward Hector and he stumbles back in fear.

HE'S SCARED OF HER.

"Do something," Hector hisses at me.

"You did this to yourself," I bark back," you decided to come here and provoke her. Deal with the consequence yourself!"

She moves quickly. She pushes past Hector and is in front of Azrael in no time. I don't have to look at her face to know her eyes are black. Azrael's face falls, she brings her blade up to Alyssa's chest.

There's a dark laugh that comes from Alyssa that chills me to the bone.

"Do you really think, you could kill me with such a puny sword?" Alyssa's head is cocked sideways. The darkness surrounding her is starting to cling. Azrael swallows then stabs her sword at Alyssa. There's just one small problem. She wasn't in front of her anymore. Alyssa was behind Azrael.
