Chapter 11

Mexico (Enraged Fury of the Evil)

Alisa's POV:

Carter and Vapor didn't really like each other. They hated each other to death! They don't have any plans on stopping. They've been bickering for almost an hour, it's tiring. Here's the thing, Vapor was saying Carter and I look good together until Carter annoyed the hell out of her.

Despite the bickering, Vapor trained me. She told me how to control and maximize my power. She's a big help, I owe her a lot. She had been nothing but a good friend.

She let us stay in her fortress, she even fed us! One time, I asked her how are we going to pay her for her goodness but she just shrugged and told me that nobody needs to pay, she enjoys helping us.

While washing the dishes, Carter appeared beside me.

"We're set to go to the Aztec temple. Are you alright now? You're too tired from all the training, maybe we should rest first." He told me.

I laughed, "Carter, I'm alright! There's no need to rest or anything."

His eyes turned into slits, studying whether I'm telling the truth or not.

"I heard you're off for a new adventure?" Vapor asked when we were alone on the sofa. "Yep, though, I wouldn't call it an adventure." I chuckled, she laughed too.

"Can I go with you two?" She asked. I imagined Carter and Vapor bickering endlessly throughout the whole trip. That would be displeasing.

"Well, Carter's the one who has a say in this, but I would love it if you would come with us."

It took a lot of effort to persuade Carter, I told him to set their issue aside and just go on with the trip. Eventually, he agreed. We were to go to the temple tomorrow and we're just spending the day preparing for the things we need.

Carter trained too, we conditioned our body and prepare our weapons. Vapor, on the other hand, improvised everything we need, armors, weapons, etc. She gave us a tablet too. It's a healing tablet, she told us to only use it when we are really close to death.

The trip to the temple was tiring, it was too far. Good thing Vapor bought a ton of water or else we'll be dead by now.

The joy on Vapor's face when we finally reached the temple was prominent. I rejoiced too, jumping up and down like a fool.

We're finally here! Thank God!

Carter was just at the side smiling as we celebrate being here. Our joy died down when we entered the temple.

It was dark and creepy. There were torches but it was not enough to make the temple visible, we had to use Vapor's improvised flashlights to see.

We stopped on our tracks when a scarified jaguar blocked our way. It was larger than a normal jaguar. Our first enemy? Well, I'm ready. We brought our weapons. The jaguar didn't back down a bit, instead, it let out a thunderous roar. It gave me goosebumps.

Okay, this is gonna be hard. Carter attacked first, with his speed, he easily wounded the jaguar while Vapor and I created a diversion.

It was a long fight, a few scratches but thankfully we defeated the jaguar. We thought it would be the last, but there were more. I think we fought 3 jaguars? They are the guards, I think.

The enemies didn't back down, they were a battalion! There were bears and horses! They all looked like they have been experimented because they're not normal.

They were twice the size of a normal animal. The bears had extra sharp claws, the horses were taller and more muscular. Each attack will literally make you unconscious. We've got bruises and wounds. It was exhausting!

"I think we should rest first. Let's head back." Carter said. We all agreed and went outside the temple.

We found a hut near the temple and that's where we stayed. Carter tended our wounds. Carter got it worst, I think it's the bear's claws that scratched his abdomen.

I tended his wounds. He can't do it by himself. Vapor was doing things to our armors and weapons. I saw her add more improvisations. That will help us for tomorrow.

"Vapor you should take a rest now. You're too tired." She turned and nodded.

'I'm just finishing this, wait!" Her energy lied low. Vapor had many wounds too, thankfully Carter tended them.

In the morning we trained more. Our body still hurts because of the fight yesterday but still headed on with the training.

I mastered using a sword, a dagger, and a gun. Carter trained using his double-sided swords. He was already powerful. Vapor was testing out guns and firing them to nowhere. We'll proceed with the trip in the afternoon. If we are to defeat Zur-U, then we should be stronger and wiser than him.
