Mexico (Back to the Beginning)

Alisa's POV:

I feel more motivated than ever. Jeffua entrusted his sapphire shard to me. I'm pressured, jeez. I feel like one wrong move, the world will fall apart and everything will be my fault.

He also gave all his trust in my hands. I'm grateful for that, at least someone actually trusts me. I'm not as useless as I may seem.

I have set a new objective and found my purpose in this alternate universe. I need to fight for peace and the future, return equality and finally stop Zur-U's greed for power that could, unfortunately, lead to world destruction.

All these made me more cautious and also awakened my adrenaline.

I went to Carter's room carrying a bag of scrolls and threw it all his back. He flinched and immediately woke up. He checked his face and began stretching. I rolled my eyes. This guy, really.

"No time to waste, bud. Now if you please, kindly read this for us. It is said to be the clue for the last shard we need."

He looked very confused. I had to facepalm, Jesus.

I explained it to him that in order for the calendar to work, it needs to be facing the brightest moon on the 4th night of the week, with the completed pieces and assembled shards placed on each value.

The middle rod should be lit up and finally bestow a single wish for each hero. I scattered the shards on the table explaining it more. One more shard and we're done.

We wasted no time and upgraded our clothes. I can't help but feel more comfortable and stronger. Well, that's my crazy side talking.

Right now, we're preparing to go to Mexico. As we were preparing things, I can't help but show a long face as I reminisce about my parents' incident.

"Now, great heroes of the round table, you shall receive my blessing of luck and light to guide your darkest path and keep you well and safe."

Jeffua ordered us a map that is useful for our journey inside the temple. An old civilization created this map from the sun worshippers. I waved goodbye and smiled.

Well, this is it. I rode using the crystal while Carter squeezed the crystal and it exploded. Mexico, we're coming for you. It seems like a villain's line but at least it worked.

Being here in Mexico, I am almost hating every moving object here. It's not their fault though, it's mine. I keep on having flashbacks and I'm not liking it. It's making me very sad and I don't like that.

Looking for the Aztec temple is hard. Oh, wait that's an understatement. Looking for the Aztec temple is hell!

On our way looking for the temple, we bumped into a small girl, she was dirty. She looked like she was being chased, she kept on looking back while hugging her waist. She's catching her breath.

"Umm-" I stopped what I was about to say when she looked up. Aww, she's cute! But she looks older than me, I guess the height played its part.

I smiled. "I have food here you seem like you need it very much." I gave her our macaroons from Jeffua, I gave her one. She looked so innocent while eating it. I giggled.

The guy beside me scoffed. "What is it, Carter?" I asked him, he looks annoyed.

"We don't have time for this Alisa, as you can see."

He answered. Growing more impatient each second. I frowned, "Carter, look at her! Jeez, calm down." He hissed and walked away. I rolled my eyes. I'll find him later.

Vapor and I flinched when someone shouted, "VAPOR!"

A guy from I doesn't know where, came rushing to us. Oh, so she's being chased. I placed her behind me to protect her.

"Excuse me, mister-" I was taken aback when he pushed me away. My forehead creased. He was about to hit Vapor when I kicked his legs.

Tsk. He was so mad at me that he immediately turned to me and fought back. This guy, ugh! What is wrong with him? I punched, kicked and dodged his punches.

In the end, he was knocked to the ground, unconscious. Not dead, though.

"OMG! I love you already! You are so cool!" I flinched when Vapor came running to me.

"Thank you for saving me! Please, come with me!" Before I could answer, she pulled my hand and lead me to God knows where.

She stopped on top of a rain forest. I think this is where she lives.

It has a house, actually, it looked like a fortress, it's wide and large!

"Come inside!" She doesn't seem excited, take note of the sarcasm. She made me sit in her living room. Giving me food and stuff. I smiled. She's kind.

"I haven't even asked your name and you're already inside my house! Sorry, I was too happy. What is your name?" She asked me.

"I'm Alisa." I said, still munching a food inside my mouth.

Vapor talked and talked, I think she has already told me her life story. I'm amazed her energy hasn't gone down a bit.

She told me that she is a mage trainer. She's really good at combat! She showed me a few tricks, and suddenly I want her to train me. I'd be stronger, then!

I thought of Carter, is he alright? Has he found the temple? If he just waited-ugh! I also told Vapor what we were doing in Mexico, "We're looking for the Aztec temple. We're also looking for a shard, it's the last shard we need."

I showed her a few shards. She was fascinated.

"OMG! So perfect! I need to test a gun I've been working on! It needs a reflection, though, this would be perfect!"

The thought of her testing the gun excites me. In our first try, the burst was too much, I wasn't able to control it. Vapor helped me cope up with the energy that the gun is releasing.

Eventually, I got the hang of it, though I still get thrown to the wall. Well, at least, I'm still alive.

Vapor and I grew closer in just a day. She's very talkative! She never runs out of stories to tell.

There were random times I'd think of Carter, where is he now? I hope he already found the temple. Though it'd be better if we found it together, but it's ok, I guess.

Vapor keeps me company. She showed me her inventions and all, I'm actually surprised, she gets to invent things I didn't know was possible! She's incredible!

I suddenly want to have shades, the burst is too blinding, it's hurting my eyes. Moving my gaze, I creased my forehead when I saw a familiar build coming.

It's Carter!

"Carter!" Vapor turned to look who I'm calling. He ran towards me and when he came, he smacked us both.

"You two-argh!" He combed his hair using his hands,

"How did you find us, by the way?" I asked him.

"Well, I happen to be lost in this town and I saw a weird blinding light, then I came here. End of the story." He explained.

"Oh,okay. I'm glad you found us. I've been worrying about you." "Let's go back to your house, Vapor." I turned to Vapor. "Yeah, sure!" She exclaimed happily.
