Sickening Headache

Carter's POV:

As queen Zur-U left the scene after cursing her daughter with an immovable headache, she then fainted and got rescued by Carter. He then had a hanging question in his thoughts and a weird confusion hits him through after he saw the interaction between Alisa and Zur-U.

It seems strange, as if he heard it that the Goddesses just called her a "daughter" and he was very sure of it.

The relationship between Zur-U and her is indeed very distracting to him, but he shook off his thoughts and just helped Alisa and her bleeding forehead. He commanded Massera to assist them out of the piles of flames and broken structures.

Massera then just leaped and rode them away there. Since they don't have any familiarity with Japan, they just followed their senses and later on found a village away from Yamatai.

There, he entered with Massera taunting inside. The villagers were scared of the sudden entrance of a panther and thought they were threatened, so as a result, they put on their defenses and the samurais held their swords, fear and a mix of valor were seen in their eyes.

Carter meant no threat so he placed Alisa on the floor and requested to treat her only. Then a man's voice whose loud and audible commanded to release them. Later on, Carter thanked the kind man.

The man also offered them a place to stay in and foods to eat. The man's name was "Mishigo", and is said to be the village priest. Carter begged him to help his friend (Alisa) who was suffering from a cold fever and nausea.

As a result, the priest then listed the things that were needed to cure the disease and gave him 6 days to find these. If he didn't make it in time, the consequence would be Alisa might be in a comatose state and might take months or years for her to heal.

This made Carter nervous and gives him the courage to start. He then states the things that he needs.

"First, I need ginger, which can be collected from the farmhouse, and it cost 11 yen to get a sack." He then did various types of works to gather enough yen and buy the ginger.

"Second, I need a peppermint, which can be collected to the west. It takes one whole day to travel there."

And so, he took a journey to get the peppermint the priest needed. On his journey, he experienced bad weather but that didn't stop him to get the peppermint.

"Lastly the lavender from the flower-fields of the southern part of Fuko City." He then traveled to the southern part of Fuko City and got the lavender that the priest needs.

After doing his last task, he was very exhausted. He sat on a cherry tree watching the sun touch the land. He was busy with his thoughts.

"Why would I do such things for someone who isn't related to me?"

The fact that he felt worried and anxious when Alisa was bleeding is only making him confused.

He was not himself at that point and plucked a cherry flower from the tree. Slowly drifted to sleep.

The following day, he tripped back to the village where he realized that he's running out of time and remembered what master Mishigo said about her state if not healed at the right time.

Carter boosted Massera running faster because when the sun rises, she'd be surely in a coma state by then. There are only 15 minutes left before Alisa is in a coma state.

Carter was born with a curse in which even if he's a powerful demon when he surges his powers, the horn will fade as a result. When both horns are completely gone, he will die.

Currently, Carter's horns are only a single sharp and the other half was absolutely missing and cracked, but due to his concerns and uneasiness that the fact that he might lose Alisa that was assigned for him to take care of, made him sacrificed his horns.

Due to this rage, he involuntarily activated his power and caused them to swift very fast lessening the travel time he needs to get back to the priest.

He spent three minutes to reach the temple with the help of his power. His incredible speed is so demonic. Mishigo just stood there out of amusement and was shocked, he looked at the boy and he saw him very tired and his heart was skipping very fast.

He then just smiled and walked away. When Carter came back opening the gate, he saw Alisa resting there on a brown bench covered in blanket.

Carter called out for Mishigo but no one answered, he called him again many times but no response was heard. He was annoyed that the temple walls had a sudden large scratch caused by Carter's eyes filled with anger.

Then, the priest showed up, smiling. This even made Carter more irritated, causing more scratches on the wall.

The priest was still calm and said to Carter, "You are a very outstanding and courageous man."

This worsens the situation even more.

He just kept attacking the priest but neither of his attacks scratched him. Finally, Mishigo said before disappearing that he's really impressed by him.

He pats Carter's arm and in the blink of an eye, the priest was completely out of sight. Carter felt a big disappointment, he turned his back to the gate, leaving Alisa unconscious because he ran out of time.

Consuming all his hopes away, he heard a sound behind him "I am awake, don't go."

He turned his back to see Alisa smirking evilly to him. He's pissed that when the priest banished, it left a sort of crystal, more like a shard.

It was picked up by him and wondered how it looks the same as Alisa's shard she held last week while running away.

She saw him in that condition. Soon she said, "Missed me huh?" while giggling like an idiot.

This confused Carter for a few seconds, then realized that she may be awake and watched him suffer while getting a bunch of meaningless stuff.

He can't stop his feeling of being alone and almost hugged her, but he stopped himself and pinched her  on the cheek. "Glad you're back, lady Alisa." He said while smiling at her.
