Point of View: Patton, Third Person
Timeline: Flashback, The Day Before Roman's Birthday

Patton was the one who ended up answering the door to the apartment, expecting Roman and Virgil to be at the door.  His eyes widened at the sight of Dee, standing there looking far too intimidating.

Not that it was Dee's fault, of course.  But he looked so... sophisticated even just with the way he carried himself.  He was wearing a black button-up, sleeves rolled up to his elbows to reveal a snake tattoo on his arm.  In his hands was a small present, easily small enough to fit in his yellow glove-covered hands.

And despite his mildly intimidating persona, Patton smiled.  This was Logan's soulmate! He had to get to know him better; Logan would be so disappointed if they weren't on good terms...

"Hiya! I'm Patton, I've heard so much about you," He held out his hand to Dee, his smile not faltering even slightly.

Dee stared at Patton for just a moment too long before shaking his hand in return.  "It is wonderful to make your acquaintance.  Logan has spoken quite highly of all of you," Dee returned, peering inside the apartment as if hoping to catch a glimpse of his soulmate.

Already, only two sentences in and Patton could already see what good of a match the two soulmates were.  They were both on the same intellectual level, clearly, and Dee seemed charismatic enough for the both of them.

"... May I come in?"

"Oh! Yes, of course, of course! C'mon in, we're just finishing up decorating!" Patton squeaked, waving him inside the apartment and stepping to the side to make room for him to pass by.  Dee had definitely caught him staring.  "It's just me and Logan right now, but the other two are on their way back with the food."

"Excellent," Dee nodded.  "And where might my soulmate be...?" He asked, not spotting him around the small apartment.

Patton looked around himself, frowning.  He could have sworn that Logan was just there tidying up the living room.  "He must be upstairs, I'll go grab him for you.  Feel free to help yourself to any snacks or look around," Patton said as just jogged up the steps, on the search for his friend.

He stopped just outside of Logan's door, knocking softly.  "... Logan? Are you in there?" He asked curiously, poking his head inside his room tentatively.  Logan didn't often appreciate his privacy being invaded.

As it turned out, Logan was in the middle of his fixing his bed, the only messing thing in the otherwise tidy room.  All of Logan's clothes were color-coordinated, his desk flawlessly organized.  He liked to keep at least his personal space neat since none of the others had picked up on his organizational habits and tended to leave a mess wherever they went.  "Oh, hello Patton," Logan greeted with a nod, silently giving Patton permission to enter.  "Is Dee here?"

"Yup! He's waiting downstairs," Patton said, walking over to the other side of Logan's bed to help get rid of the creases.  "... I can't believe that he's your soulmate," Patton smiled softly.

"Neither can I most days," Logan admitted, smiling fondly down at the floor at the reminder.  "You know, Patton... I really didn't think I was going to have a soulmate," Logan confessed quietly and Patton looked up in surprise.  Logan was so amazing, anyone would be lucky to have him for a soulmate.  "I know that it's rare, but I never thought that were was anyone out there who would truly accept me with all of my strange eccentricities and hobbies.  I'd never been a part of a group, I never had any close relationships until I met you," Logan continued and Patton's heart fluttered softly in his chest.  "And without you bringing us all together Patton, I think it would have stayed that way for a long time," Logan finished, fixing his pillow.

"I'm sure that you've made some wonderful nerd friends if it wasn't for me dragging you out of that library almost every day," Patton denied.

"I can't say that I agree," Logan laughed lightly just at the idea of him approaching another student.  "Us library nerds tend to keep to ourselves."

"You would have found someone," Patton fixed the last wrinkle before standing up properly.  "You found Dee after all.  And a couple months early!"

"Perhaps," Logan mused, glancing in the mirror to check his tie.  "Thank you for your help."

Before Patton could reply, he suddenly hear Roman's voice traveling throughout the entire apartment.  Patton giggled, fixing his glasses.  "That sounds like my cue! Are you coming?"

"I'm right behind you."
