Saturday, November 9th

Kim Namjoon was usually okay with helping his boss with his sudden getaways. However, today's schedule was hectic, and he had to make sure his boss didn't get distracted.

He was waiting in the car at his boss's mansion for him to come out and used that time to go through his schedule. He had to prepare a SoW for a new client and get it reviewed by either his boss or the other partner.

"Joonie! Why do you look so worried?", Kim Taehyung said as he slid into the backseat of the car.

Namjoon smiled at him, "We've two client meetings today, and one of our SoW is still in pending state. Our advocates have asked us to consult – "

"The weather's nice. We'll go out.", Taehyung said ignoring Namjoon's task list.

Namjoon only sighed. "Tae, we've to be at the meeting."

"Fine. Can we go out in the afternoon?", he asked.

At that, Namjoon went through the schedule again, "We've an empty slot for an hour right after our lunch with the French client."

Taehyung grinned, "We'll go out, then."

Namjoon agreed. Just an hour, right?

...

Taehyung wrapped up the lunch with his prospective client. It went well. When he slipped into his role as the director, he found it easy to stay there in that character. He was charming, easy to talk to and clients loved that. To top that, he had a workaholic, smartass like Kim Namjoon by his side.

He dragged Namjoon out and into the car, "You know where you should go."

"The café?", Namjoon asked.

Taehyung nodded as he put his phone on airplane mode.

"But Jimin is already there. Tae, about that – ". He started hesitantly.

Taehyung looked up from his phone. "So. Jimin told you about it. My decision won't change, Joonie. He had to be fired."

And, Namjoon had seen that adamant look on the other's way too many times to know that no argument is going to change his mind, so he let it go. "Where to then?"

"Oh! I know. We'll go to the same place that I found last week.", the director grinned.

"Not more than an hour, Tae. We've a presentation to work on and the SoW – "

"Yeah, yeah. I know. Can we just go?"

"Fine."

...

Taehyung took his coat off and left it in the car. The sun was high, and he closed his eyes looking up at the sky, trying to soak in its warmth. Namjoon followed him with his eyes still glued to his phone.

Taehyung sighed at his friend. He was always worked up about schedules and running back and forth about business with no regard to his own personal life.

He pulled out his phone and clicked a picture of Namjoon, whose forehead was creased, one hand was covering his phone so that he can read the emails, or messages, or maybe documents.

He admired the photograph on his phone, as he walked to the backyard, leaving the other in his own world.

The kids were running around in circles, and a few stalls were up – one with darts, an ice cream stall, a merry-go-ground and the last one with a beautiful man.

A beautiful man who was decorating cupcakes.

Taehyung's heart skipped a beat like it always did when he saw him.
