Irene wasn't letting Seokjin into the kitchen.
"Was I supposed to do something?", he whined. "I can't remember. Is it my turn to clean the stove?"
She stood with a deep frown, eyebrows burrowed. "You are useless."
"I know, I know. I am sorry. Just tell what it is about.", he pled.
She took a step back and spread her hands like a ballet dancer. "I dressed up because you told me you'd take me out for lunch at some restaurant. NOW I FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT, SEOKJIN."
Seokjin immediately jumped into an apology, "I forgot it was today. I'll take you out in the evening. From there, we'll go to Kook's dinner party."
Irene hummed. "Do you know how much effort it takes to dress up? I hate you."
"You are dressed like always, in black.", Seokjin deadpanned. "I see no difference."
Irene blew raspberries at him, "Whoever said 'Men are not worthy of women' was right."
"It was you. You said that last week.", he rolled his eyes.
Irene walked away, "Yeah, and I am right."
...
Seokjin called up the orphanage and told them that he can't make it as he waited for Irene to get out of the washroom.
Despite all his jabs at her, she was effortlessly beautiful. She left her hair open and dabbed a little make up on.
"How do I look?", she asked grinning after she came out.
"Like the witch from Maleficent.", Seokjin chuckled and called for a cab.
Irene linked his arms with him after they settled in the backseat, "You know I am happy we broke up."
Seokjin fake gasped, "Really? Unbelievable!"
"Yeah. Because Angelina was a fairy in Maleficent, you dumbass.", she snorted.
...
Seokjin chose the same restaurant that Taehyung took him to. He loved the Tteokbokki they served and knowing how picky of an eater Irene was, he wanted her to taste it.
But then he didn't realize how much the place would affect him. Irene was talking about her plans and if she can find another job with just the café as her work experience. She joked about her plans to murder Mr. Song being successful so that she can take his job.
When Seokjin didn't laugh at that, she placed a hand on his, worried. "What's wrong?"
"I came here with Taehyung.", he panted, covering his ears with his hands. "I can't breathe."
Irene called the waiter for the bill and took Seokjin out.
"I am sorry. I'll take you out on another day.", he sniffled.
"Is it okay if I tell you something?", she said as they sat on the stairs of the mall.
Seokjin nodded.
"I don't know Taehyung. You say that you don't feel like you know him anymore. But, Jin – you admire our boss so much. You always said that he must be a really nice and sweet being. Granted, you didn't know your boyfriend and our boss were the same, but you like him either way.", she spoke.
Seokjin blinked, "Yeah, I do. He is really sweet."
She ruffled his hair, "Think about it. Do you want me to take you home?"
