~Sokka's dream still~
As the young man ran away from those two chicken leg people stopped and stared at him. It didn't matter if they were loading or unloading a cart, water, earth, fire or air bending, walking their pet, playing with their kids, siblings it didn't matter. They all froze in time, almost as if a thin sheet of ice covered everyone except for Sokka. He looked behind him after turning the corner, leaning against the cold, stone, windowless building. To the warrior it felt cold, slightly moist, almost as if someone had either just washed the building and did a poor job of drying it off, or the building was a big block of ice that someone had been trying to melt down with fire bending and they just started to break the ice. "What is going on here....." The tanned teen looked around and panted, searching for an answer to his question that no one could hear. He leaned his head against the freezing building then closed his eyes, footsteps. He heard footsteps coming closer, not just one, but what seemed like an army. An army of footsteps! "Where's the Avatar!" A familiar, not loved nor not a yet definable voice could be heard between blasts of fire, screaming, more footsteps and penguins running. This didn't sound right to him, Sokka opened his eyes and he was back home, he was still in his fire nation clothing, but he was back at the South Pole, hiding behind a large snow bank that was far from his village. "Give me the Avatar! I know he's here!" This was an absolute replay of what happened to Sokka's village, the fire prince and his men attacked the Water Tribe, they burnt so many penguins to a crisp, so many tents were burnt to the ground, kids and young teenagers were taken from the village and boarded onto the ship. The only difference, is that instead of Sokka being grabbed, his mother was. The dreaming warrior saw as his mother got dragged by her hair onto the ship, she was kicking and screaming while a younger Sokka and Katara were chasing after them, right until a fireball got launched at them. The new Fire Nation warrior stared at his past trauma, cold tears threatened to break past the barrier called the bottom eyelid at this sight he wish he never knew.~Real World~
The real world Sokka's eyes were participating in rem, or rapid eye movement due to everything that was happening in his dream state. He wasn't tossing and turning, but instead he stayed still, as if paralyzed due to fear. Right when he and Katara got hit with the fire blast he woke up, bouncing in place as if he had a dream in which he jumped from the top of a building. He slowly sat up, but since he was on his stomach he instead pushed himself up with his arms then rolled over to sit down. He looked around the room, but there was no window to tell if it was night or morning, this could be considered hell to many people, and Sokka was one of those people. In the hall footsteps could be heard, back and forth, slow, loud footsteps. Most likely the guard the warrior thought. He sighed gently as he through the heavy blanket off of him and brought his legs over the edge of the bed, it wasn't that comfortable of a mattress or a bedframe to him, but then again, he was used to things much like sleeping bags and the soft ground covered in blankets.
