[Rewriting) Keeping the fire close [Zuko × Sokka]

Change of Status

Zuko did exactly as Sokka did, of course since he was taller than the other, his legs hung off of the bed more, it was a little awkward to sit like that, but he was used to awkward positions while sitting, laying down and used to standing all day, so it was a little almost impossible to make the young prince feel uncomfortable. "So, tell me Sokka. Do you have someone back in your tribe?"

This cause the tribesman to laugh a little while shaking his head "no, no, it's mainly women who are already married with kids and little girls, other than my sister" he shrugged "how about you, got anyone back home? Before..." He used his free hand to make trace a circle around his own eye, making sure it was in the same area as Zuko's scar, hinting at it. "Yes actually, her name is Mai. But I was sent away, and I didn't find much hope or interest in her" the young prince shrugged.

"Ah.." Sokka nodded, taking note that Zuko was in a relationship, but it didn't go well. "Why didn't it work?" He got a little more interested, scooting closer to the prince. "Well, she barely displayed interest in anything, she didn't really like it when I would try to give her affection, she was more interested in the guards because they were more serious" he shrugged, not really caring that much about her, he didn't really talking about it either.

Sokka groaned a little bit, rolling onto his back, folding his arms behind his head while closing his eyes, crossing one leg over the other "that sounds boring! She just sounds like a bitch, not meaning to be rude, but man is that just a bitch thing to do"

"I don't really care, I'm not around her anymore, I don't have to deal with her anymore" the pale teen shrugged while leaning over Sokka a little, wondering. "Hey..Sokka..."

The darker of the two opened one of his eyes, looking to Zuko, who was now closer than he had last seen "hm? What's up bud?"

"...do you ever wonder what it would be like to be with another guy? I figured that since I'm already banished I could do a bunch of things I always wanted to try, and things that have been seen as dishonorable"

The brown haired teen was a little surprised by this, he took his arms from behind his head, sat up and resting his elbows on his legs. "I mean.." he thought about it, sure he had those curious thoughts, he was going through puberty, he felt his heart speed up a little around some guys from his village, it just depended on who it was. "Yeah, I've wondered about it, he looked back towards his friend, who had a relieved expression on his face.

"So, would you wanna try?" Zuko sat up, a little nervous, fidgeting with his hands "neither of us have been with women, we're inexperienced" he was trying to put thought into this, unlike most things he did. This was something he wanted to do right, something he wanted to cherish if it worked out. "And if it doesn't work out, then this will have helped us in picking girls up, you know?"

Sokka listened to Zuko's proposal, taking a moment or two after he finished to think it over, gently tapping his toes agaisnt the floor since the entirety of his feed didn't reach. "Yeah, we could try" he smiled "if anything we'll be closer friends" he leaned back, propping himself up on his arms, his answer made the prince smile. "Yeah, yeah it will."

A moment of silence clouded over them, what were they to do now? Were they to hold each other? Were they to start planning for the future? No, that was way too soon, but after what felt like an hour, Sokka spoke up "I've seen married couples kiss and stuff, should we do that too?"

Zuko shrugged "I guess, I go left and you go right?" Sokka shrugged "I dunno, I've only ever kissed my gramgram, mom and dad on the cheek." The fire nation man nodded slowly again, "then we could start out with that" he smiled, quickly pecking Sokka's cheek, causing the other to chuckle a little, nodding "yeah, that's fine."
