Just like every other storm there were breaks. Moments whenever the waves weren't as rough, when the rain would let up and not sound like someone stabbing the ship with a knife to try and get through to the goods and people inside, but instead soft pattering agaisnt the metal of the ship, sure it was still thundering and lightning, but it wasn't as bad. It was at moments like these that the two boys wondered how long it last, if the other would come into their room so they could talk, if they could try to discuss what they should do afterwards. But they both sat there, their butts firmly planted on the ground, Sokka's knees were bent and held to his chest, Zuko propped one elbow on his knee, supporting his head and keeping it up that way. They were both counting, seeing how long they would have before the storm picked up and raged once more, but, after seeing that it had been three minutes the younger of the two got off the floor, a little awkwardly and slowly since his legs had fallen asleep. He walked just as awkwardly to the door, hobbling as if he was a drunk man, or even a man with a broken leg but needed to hurry up and go to work.
On Zuko's side nothing changed, other than him changing the way he was sitting to both of his legs crossed and tucked underneath him, still resting his elbow on his knee, but this time he leaned forward and let his head hang down, closing his eyes slowly.
The more comedic of the two slowly left his room, peaking his head out first, looking up and down the hallway to make sure they everyone was really in their rooms and he wouldn't get caught seeing his only friend on the ship. Once seeing that it was indeed empty he slowly, quietly closed his door, shushing the metal door as it squeaked the fifteen year old sighed a little out of relief when he did finally close his door, then took a couple awkward steps forward, his legs were still asleep, almost getting to the point of pins and needles, which annoyed him greatly.
Zuko eventually got off the ground and went over to the bed, tossing some of his pillows off to the side so he could grab his blade and shave his head, his hair was starting to grow back we're it wasn't supposed to, it was a little itchy, it felt weird on the pillow when he laid down, it felt even weirder and hurt a little whenever he ran his hand across the stubble.
He had lifted up the corner of his matress, grabbed the small silver blade that had a black and gold handle, then heard a knock on his door, he was a little caught off guard at first, but he set the knife down and stepped towards the door, his bare feet making soft patting noises agaisnt the floor, opening the door when he reached it and smiling a little, then cringed when he felt water that was still on the ship from the crashing waves come into his room.
At the door, to no surprise was Sokka, who was getting damp due to being in the rain, smiling back at the banished prince, looking up to his friend before hugging him. "No, you're wet get off!" The taller of the two laughed a little and stepped backwards into his room while he had his companion attached to him, then closed the door.
