Chapter 24

Jaxx POV

One week, Rox has been gone an entire week and we still know nothing more than the bastards name. When she took to long in the bathroom I had followed her scent through the mall to hot topic. I searched the store until I realized she never came in. I called her phone trying to reach her, that's when I heard it. I turned around and saw it laying on the ground.

My heart sank, I knew something was wrong. I had phoned her father immediately.
"Has Rox tried to talk to you?"
"Yes she mind linked me. I been trying to call her she won't answer. Her mind has gone blank. I can't reach her. I-"

He had stopped mid sentence I knew something was wrong.

"They injected her with wolfsbane it's useless. They know her weakness"
"I'll be there after I search the mall."

I sniffed the air to try to catch someone else's scent. I concentrated hard, that's when I smelt it. I could smell another males scent mixing with my mates and that angered me even more. I followed it out a door beside hot topic. It led me to a parking spot with fresh skid marks, like whoever drove off knew they didn't have long. I let out a broken howl at the absence of my mate. I took off running in the direction of her scent, it was still fresh they hadn't been gone long.

I shifted and mind linked Gavin.
'Call Rox's father tell him I'm following her scent. Let the pack know this is an act of war. Their future Luna has been taken. I'm heading south from the mall, I'll be passing the pack boarder in 5 minutes have warriors meet me and follow me. Relay the message to Rox's father. I'm going to get my mate.'

'Yes alpha.' Was all I heard before I blocked my mind link. I needed to find her, my wolf is going crazy!

When I got to the pack boarder I saw 50 of my best warriors mixed with about another 50 of alpha Redbirds warriors. I howled and let them know I wasn't stopping. They barked back and fell in line with me. Her scent was still strong. These assholes drove her right past my boarders and I didn't even know it. Oh their going to pay.

I kept running until we got to an abandoned warehouse between our packs. I wasted no time in crashing through the door. Inside there sat a single chair, a woman was slumped over with her back facing me. She had been beaten pretty badly, I could smell her blood.

'Someone get a pack doctor in here now!' I ordered as I shifted and put some clothes on that a warrior had handed me. I slowly approached the woman, sniffing the air for any danger.

"Hello?" I called out to her. She lifted her head to look at me as I walked in front of her.

"They have her! They took my baby, you have to help her!" She begged before she passed back out. I heard a deafening howl and I knew immediately who it was. Alpha redbird came running in, taking it all in as he approached. "This is her mother. My mate." Was all he said before he carefully ripped the rope that bond her to the chair and picked up her broken body.

He carried her away, his broken mate. I searched the entire building and found nothing. Just her fading scent. I was about to leave when I noticed a note sitting on the chair the woman was on.

'Dear mutt,
If you have received this note that means your about as smart as I pinned you to be. I figured in return for one mate I'd leave another. By this time me and your beloved Rox are far away. I have taken her from you the same as you had taken her from me before. If your confused ask enisi. I'm sure she would love to enlighten you.

Who the fuck is Kamron who the fuck is keno, and where the fuck is my mate!

I still have that note. I had taken it to enisi as soon as I was finished. She explained the legends to me and what they meant. She told me how Rox is supposedly this Layla, how Kamron is this Keno guy, and I am her werewolf mate. But why, what do they want? I will find you my love and bring you home. I won't fail you.
