Percy POV.

It was now just me and Annabeth. I gestured for her to take a seat and then I did the same. Before I could say anything, she began to speak.

'Percy, I heard your conversation with Reyna." I was shocked but then I remembered her invisibility cap, she must have still had it all this time.

"I know you're worried about me breaking apart; but I'm stronger now."

"How am I supposed to believe that?! The second you thought you were going to lose me, you joined an army that was trying to kill everyone on this planet! You even tried to kill me! What kind of maniac are you!" I roared.

I noticed the hurt expression on her face but rather than her breaking down as I feared, she looked at me defiantly. "I've got a lot to make up for, but I will. I love you Seaweed Brain, and I'll make myself worthy of you again, no matter how long it takes. Nice try by the way."

"You saw through huh?" I asked, cracking a smile. I'd used a particularly hurtful phrase to see what effect I would have on her and she'd shown me she was stronger than before.

"We have a lot more to talk about but not now while everything's in jeopardy. I'll see you later." Annabeth came closer for a hug but I pulled her into a kiss. After a few seconds, I broke apart and she gazed at me shocked. "Call it encouragement." I said and she smiled remembering when she'd done the same for me, all those years ago at the volcano explosion.

She then grabbed my hand and squeezed it before heading out of the hall, turning back to smile at me once more. I smiled before turning my thoughts back to business.
