Percy POV
I left Annabeth to formalise the terms with the three former enemies as I left the room. Maybe I was giving her too much responsibility, being too forgiving too early but to be frank I was so infuriated I didn't really care at this point. It felt like everything I'd suffered and sacrificed for had been lost. Three of the greatest threats to humankind and the universe were now going to come back someday and put us all in life-threatening danger again. My only positive thoughts were that if I survived this conflict, at least I'd still be around to fight off End,Gaia and Kronos the next time.
As I was walking past the mess hall, I noticed it was a bit busier. While many had objected to our plan of using our enemies as allies on the battlefield; camp morale had grown as the situation was no longer completely against us.
An idea now hit me, if I had to take on these enemies as allies; I'd better know who was at my back defending me. Thus I decided to get to know the new heroes, partly for strategic purposes and partly to get my mind off everything.
I asked around the Camp and found that Torvi and Belado were actually training together in the arena.
As I appeared at the arena; I found a fight more energetic then I'd seen in a long time. Torvi was leaping around, thrusting her spear as she used her shield like a battering ram. Belado leapt back, his colourful Aztec armour glowing as he jumped up in the air and turned into a gargantuan monstrous bird. He flew around, scratching Torvi repeatedly in the blur of an eye as she was unable to react fast enough. Torvi then knelt down and covered herself with her shield. Lightning boomed and the monstrous bird was struck in the wing, collapsing to the ground where it reverted to Belado. Belado then unsheathed his sword; a beautiful purple blade with a silver handle and began to charge. Torvi leapt up and thrusted her spear but suddenly Belado was no longer there. A second later, Torvi seemed to be pinned to the ground by an invisible force. I thought she would admit defeat but she swung her head backwards and Belado suddenly reappeared; crashing into the ground as he covered his nose. He then got back to his feet and began to charge; Torvi responding in kind.
I chose this moment to step in and stop the fight.
"Hey what the hell!" Torvi yelled; stopping mid thrust as my hand was placed upon her chest. Belado also scowled as he lowered his sword and sheathed it."Things were getting too heated. Save your energy and aggression for the fight that's about to come. " I spoke calmly.(Although a part of me really wanted to see that fight continue.)
They both groaned before shaking hands and putting their weapons away.
"You guys clearly like to fight. What's the best combat-related accomplishment you have?" I asked, genuinely interested.
"I had to beat every Aztec god in single combat to have the privilege of leading them in a fight against the Inca and their gods." Belado spoke.
Torvi whistled her approval. She then told of how she'd defeated all of the Aesir including Thor and Odin to prove herself worthy of fighting the king of the frost giants, whom she defeated after 8 hours of hand to hand fighting.
"What about you then Percy?" Belado asked.
I smiled and soon their jaws had hit the floor as I began to speak. "Wow." Belado quipped while Torvi immediately challenged me to a duel.
"Maybe later." I smiled. "Now come on let's get something to eat and I'll tell you more about myself."
As we began to walk to the mess hall, Chaos suddenly appeared in front of us. Before we could say anything he spoke. "Time has run out, my sibling is about to break free. The ship isn't entirely complete but it's good enough to fly. There's no time to alter it now. The final battle beckons.
