Percy POV
We'd arrived. Our ship had arrived in the centre of the sun. Incredibly; it seemed absolutely fine. I guess I should never doubt what Leo and Annabeth can achieve when they put their heads together.

Annabeth had led a quick 10 minute briefing on what to expect. On board was all the demigods and legacies plus the mercenaries who had accompanied me as well as Hassan and Reyna. End and Chaos were also with us; I was relieved they hadn't tried to kill each other before we arrived;  but I suppose they both appreciated what was at stake. They were spending half their energy each to try and protect the universe around us; meaning together they were roughly equivalent to just 1 normal version of either of them. The gods themselves alongside the titans and the giants like Gaia and Kronos were all on earth. They'd met at a location in Africa; the place they said humanity had first originated from; and were using their powers to project a giant purple layer of energy around the planet to try and shield it.

Our ship had a special in-built atmosphere which meant that we could survive once the doors opened. The heat of the sun and the lack of oxygen wouldn't affect any in the ship. However if we went out; we'd lose all these benefits and be in serious trouble. We thus had to lure the enemy to us. Leo waited near the control deck, waiting for my command, which he could see through the cameras, so that he could then open the necessary doors.

As I looked upon all the warriors gathered before me; I pushed aside the sad notion that I might not see many of them again. "Everyone's this is it. I can't say enough how grateful I am that you are all here. You've suffered far more trials and tribulations that anyone should have to for a last time. Kronos, Gaia, End and now this. But this is our chance to end it all. If we defeat this foe; there will be peace for generations and our descendants will never have to face this enemy again. You've all survived this long and that means you're made of steel. Hold fast to your courage, stiffen your sinews, let your powers course through you. We will win this day, I swear it. Fight until you can fight no more; but call for a medic or backup if you need it; none of us are fighting alone."

I raised my hand and Leo activated Hassan's cannon. A giant ray of purple energy crashed into the sun, somewhat nullifying it's energy and opening up a small gap through which the ship could travel forth into the sun. As I heard the thrusters of the ship begin to activate; I braved myself for the battle to come.

??? POV
I screeched in delight. The moment to kill these nuisances had arrived. It was now time to enter into war! I decided to mimic the mortals by taking a mortal form, except I was made of glowing sunlight. Each second I would vibrate and ten clones of myself would manifest out of my body. I began floating towards the entrance of the ship, my clones following at my heels.

Percy POV
An ear-piercing scream rippled through the air. Space is a vaccuum and there should be no sound, the fact such a loud sound occurred proved that this wasn't an ordinary foe we were fighting. The doors had now opened and I saw a spectral humanoid figure advancing towards me. As it drew closer, I saw more similar looking figures advancing as well. Suddenly the lead figure pointed and a blast of yellow energy smashed into the ship, knocking all of us over. I heard Leo yelling from the cockpit as he struggle to stop the ship from crashing. As I struggled to my feet; I could see the figures were only a few yards away from the door. The fight was on!
