"The surgery went really well," Dr. Thitipoom, a general surgeon who operated on Bright told Win. "He was very lucky that you found him in time," he continued.

"Thank you very much," Win smiled and shook his hand. Win then headed to Bright's room who was still sound asleep. "The anesthesia probably hasn't worn off," Win told himself.

"You Pepsi punk, what would you do without me?" He huffed while he tucked in Bright's hands into the blanket. Win then thought about going home but then he realized he left his wallet at home. He didn't bring his car keys either. He just decided to wait until Bright wakes up but he eventually fell asleep first.

Bright then slowly woke up to the unfamiliar scent and winced as he felt pain in his lower abdomen. He then realized he was in the hospital. The last memory he had was having severe stomach pain before passing out. When he looked around, he noticed Win was there, the mysterious stranger that he still doesn't even know the name.

"You," Bright softly poked Win.

"What? What? Yes, I am coming!" Win responded as if he was being paged to the ER during his sleep but immediately noticed Bright was awake. "Sorry, work habit," he said.

"Why am I here?" Bright asked.

"Why are you here? Well, Mr. Vachirawit, you are here because you had appendicitis and I discovered you just in time. I'm the reason you're alive. Your welcome," Win crossed his arms.

"How did you discover me? Did you intrude into my house?" Bright freaked out.

"Hey, I didn't want to. The only reason I came to your apartment again was to... was to tell you that I accidentally saw your passcode when you went in so I wanted you to change it. If something gets stolen, I don't want to be responsible," he explained.

Bright couldn't say anything back. "Can't say anything, is it? Not even God would've known it was a good thing I know your passcode. Anyway, I had to rush here without a wallet or a car key. I am just gonna go home tomorrow morning. I'll be in the on-call room if you need me... but you probably won't," Win was about to leave when he felt something grabbed his wrist.

"Th-Thank you. You already know my name but I don't know yours," Bright asked.

"Win, Win Metawin," Win smiled.

***

Win was resting in the on-call room when someone came in; it was Thannam.

"You little useless prick!" she immediately scolded as she came in. Win hasn't even got onto the bunk bed yet.

"P'Thannam, I am lost," he confusingly asked.

"You didn't care to tell me you're friends with Bright Vachirawit? I've known you for about 10 years now and is that how you treat me?" she vented.

"Don't tell me you are a fan too..." Win scratched his head.

"Of course I am, everyone is! How can someone resist a man like Bright Vachirawit?" Thannam clutched her hands together and smiled.

"P', the truth is-" before he could finish, someone barged into the room. It was Bright.

"N'Bright!!" Thannam squealed. "You must be here to see N'Win," she acted to shy and kept biting her lips.

"Y-yes," Bright answered.

"I am Thannam, N'Win's friend for over 10 years now but he never told me that you two were friends," Thannam stated.

"He said that we're friends?" Bright asked, with a smirk on his face.

Win internally cursed, ai-shia

"You guys aren't?" Thannam was confused.

"We are actually just neighbors... just neighbors," Win quickly responded.

"Ah, that's the reason. Win recently moved to that new condo, right?" Thannam confirmed. "Well, I'll leave you two. It was very nice meeting you, I am a huge fan," she shook hands with Bright and eventually left.

"Ay, don't misunderstand. I only told them we're friends because someone needed to sign on your surgery form," Win defended.

"We can't be friends then? If I remember correctly, it was you who wanted to risk your own career to serve justice for me?" Bright smirked.

"Well yeah, but someone didn't even want to try," Win rolled his eyes.

"It was me," Bright softly spoke.

"What?"

"It was me. I staged it. I am telling you I wanted to quit the football team a long time ago. It was never my thing, okay? My father thought I was good at it and before I knew it, I was professionally training. So I fabricated my own results. I wanted a way out and this was the only way without my father catching me," Bright explained.

"I- I didn't know you had a reason like this," Win was flabbergasted and speechless.

"Now you know. Just don't tell anyone. I am only telling you all this because I'm worried your justice ass wouldn't give it up," Bright huffed.

"You want to talk about it?" Win asked.

"Don't go all counselor-mode on me. My friend is stopping by, I can ask him to give you a ride to the condo," Bright offered. Win just nodded.

***

Win was just sitting in Bright's room when the doors opened and someone walked in. "Bright, you bastard, I was so worried!" the guy said. When Win turned his head, he was surprised to see a familiar face. It was Tor, his high school classmate.

"Win?" Tor was equally surprised.

"Tor?"

"You guys know each other?" Bright asked.

"Of course, we went to high school together. The world is so small. How do you guys know each other?" Tor asked back.

"Long story," Bright answered before Win could say anything.

"Well guess what? I used to pursue Win back in high school but he never gave me an answer and went abroad to study," Tor said. Bright immediately frowned without even noticing himself.

"C'mon, it's like 100 years ago stuff," Win brushed it off.

"Well, you're the one I'm supposed to drive home? We have a lot to catch up, don't we?" Tor asked.

"S-sure, thanks?" Win shrugged. "Well, I'll check on you later. You should be able to discharge in a few days," he told to Bright and left with Tor.

Somehow, this wasn't what Bright wanted. However, he himself wasn't even sure what he really wants either.

*****

Don't worry! I am not going to put tropey love triangle. Let's consider Tor like a starting agent for the love to blossom between our main leads. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
