Those words hit Kelly hard in the stomach.
She remembers the day when they agreed to be break-up buddies, and when she kissed him on the cheek. Now Marco had a girlfriend, and somehow Kelly didn't feel as good. She feels... sad. Kelly wasn't like Jackie, she was brave and independent. She knew exactly what this feeling was. Jealousy.
Jackie sat in her room, thinking over what happened that day. Does she still have feelings for Marco? Was she jealous of Star? These questions circled Jackie's head. She was kind, and she didn't want Star or Marco to be upset because of her feelings. So Jackie Lynn Thomas shoved her feelings for Marco Diaz down into the deepest depths of her heart.
Time skip!
"Star, dear, mind that table!" Eclipsa called. Star was carrying a load of boxes filled with baby toys and food. "Oops, sorry," she said and set the boxes down onto the floor of the new baby room in the new Butterfly castle. Marco was right behind her.
"The new Butterfly castle looks so much better now, huh," He said as he went around the room. Meteora hissed as he passed her crib. "Yeah," Star heaved a sigh, "Come on Marco, more boxes!"
Star took Marco's hand as they walked along the hallway bustling with workers and movers. Some were humans, some were monsters. Star smiled as she looked around. A lot has changed in Butterfly castle. You can't tell if there was a huge war there before. The roofs were patched and fixed, the rooms were filled with new furniture. Suddenly, Moon rushed their direction. She waved quickly and smiled as she passed them. Marco looked at Star. He remembers the severing of their souls and smiled. How dumb he was, not realizing that they can't even be separated.
Suddenly Star's phone rang. She pulled it out of the pocket, and as soon as she saw the caller ID, she let go of Marco's hand. "Sorry," she whispered, "Meet me outside," and Star ran out of the castle gates and answered her phone. "Kassie?" Star said, "What's wrong?" Kassie laughed. "What do you mean, what's wrong? I'm here! Don't you remember?"
Star gasped and slapped her forehead. "Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry! With the preparing of the new Butterfly castle and everythi-" "No, it's fine, Star! I'll just call a taxi and come home first. But can you still keep it a secret? I wanna surprise Marco at school tomorrow," Kassie said. Star nodded. "Alrighty! Bye!" and she hung up just as Marco went up behind her. "Who's that?" he asked suspiciously. Star whipped around and laughed uncomfortably. "Ah, hehe, no one," she smiled awkwardly. Marco put his arm around her shoulder. "Come on, let's go home," he smiled at her.
"Ah!" Star shouted nervously, "M- Marco, I wanna go get ice cream! Can we go get ice cream?" she said, adding puppy eyes to convince him. Marco looked confused at first but then he shrugged. "Why not," he smiled sweetly at his girlfriend.
With Kassie...
Kassie walked up to the front door. The house was the same, except for a hole in the roof where Star's room had been. She took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. Rafael opened the door and gasped. "K- Kassie, my baby girl?" he shouted excitedly and gave her a big bear hug. "Aw, dad," Kassie said, "I missed you too." Angie appeared behind Rafael. "Kassie?!" she exclaimed. Her parents dragged her inside and excitedly talked to her. They were beyond thrilled!
After a few hours of dragging Marco around the town, Star decided that it's safe to come home. She opened the front door, praying that Kassie wasn't in there. She wasn't. Marco's parents must also be on this, she thought as she and Marco climbed upstairs. Angie winked at her and Star gave her a thumbs up.
In the new Butterly castle...
"Aww, Meteora's the cutest little thing! Just like Mariposa!" Kassie gushed. She would be spending the night at Butterfly castle and tomorrow, she would surprise Marco after school. Eclipsa smiled. "You know, you look a lot like Marco," Meteora hissed at the sound of Marco's name and jumped off Kassie's arms. She scooped her back up. "Aw, thanks. He's my twin," she said tickling Meteora. "Say, darling, what's that little scar on your face?" Eclipsa asked, looking at the small scar on Kassie right cheek. Kassie touched her cheek, "Oh...that's..." she frowned. Eclipsa stood up and took Meteora from her. "It's fine if you don't want to talk about it," she smiled, "I think it's your bedtime anyway." Kassie snapped out from her flashbacks. "Ah right, I'll be going," she smiled brightly, "Goodnight, Meteora, Eclipsa, and Globgor," and walked out the door, closing it behind her.
