In England of London lives a Merchant. His Name was Walter. Although

Comfortable and wealthy, he has lost his purpose as a man. His expression

Is inscrutable and his gait was heavy like a trudging ox. His body is

Fairly built and he has a habit of stroking his Anchor black beard. He

Was considered to be handsome by most. Walter carries a Falchion sword

Around his waist, a few daggers in his pouch, and a Billhook hidden

Under his cloak! He had leather boots on his feet and a golden medallion round his neck.

There is an old lady accompanying him, she is docile and she would look at the

Earth when conversing with Nobles. She has an eye for gambling and she always go

On errands—the context of which is not known. Her name surreptitiously kept between

Her daughters and herself. She brought seven daughters.

The eldest daughter name is Olivia, a virtuous woman naming the Lord’s name wherever.

She distrusts Walter secretly believing Walter is a libidinous man.

The second daughter is Beth. She is the most irksome and she would drop or knock

Things over whenever Walter’s presence appeared: She loved the Merchant however

Walter finds her, Olivia, and Alice quite repulsive.

The third daughter is Alice. Unattractive she may be but her charms are as sweet

As the scent of fresh lavender. Alice is consumed by jealousy and would rage if Walter

Would converse with another woman.

The fourth daughter is Juliana, as graceful as a swan; her skin complexion is vitreous and pale

Her eyelashes are long for they twinkled underneath the sun. Her cheeks are sanguine and her

Blue eyes gave extra charm to her gait.

The fifth daughter is Emma, the sixth Isabella, and the seventh Beatrice they are triplets, they

Look identically alike but one can distinguish them apart from their characters.

The nine are heading to Canterbury.
