I rushed down the hallway towards my love's private quarters. A chamberlain had knocked on my door earlier, informing me that Nadia wanted to see me. I didn't know what it was, so I hurried down the gold lined halls until I reached her room. I knocked. "Come in." Her voice sounded a bit distressed and I saw her matching expression once I entered. I closed the door behind me and she beckoned me over to her bed. "Love, what is it? You seem in distress." She sighed and rubbed her temples. I gave her a soft kiss on her forehead. "It's about my family..." She looked towards the window, grumpily. I smiled as I knew how she didn't like meeting them. "They'll be visiting us for tea today." I was shocked. It was already 10 in the morning, we'd have to prepare things. "Why didn't you tell me? How come they're visiting?" I asked her in a rush, my pulse now beating a few steps higher. She chuckled seeing how nervous I had gotten. I had never met them before, so of course I would be nervous. "Don't worry, it's only my parents. They want to get to know my future Queen." The way she said it made me blush. I held my hand and sighed. "B-But what if I-" "No what ifs my dear. You're more than perfect to me and they will surely see it too. I don't have a doubt in my mind about that." I smiled as she stroked my cheek reassuringly. "Fine. But still, I would have been happier if you told me this earlier. Maybe yesterday? You know that I'd want to bake myself!" I said and she rubbed her forehead. "If I knew this earlier I would have said so. Portia just gave me the letter from Prakra. We should really improve the mailing system.." She mumbled the last part, her mind already deep into the countess position. "Nadia, let's go and prepare. Baking will help me get less nervous too." I said and she sighed, giving me a genuine smile. "How about I help you?" She asked as we exited her room and I turned to look at her in disbelief. "What is it?" She asked me and I crossed my arms, smirking. "Have you even been to the kitchen before?" I asked her and a tint of pink formed on her cheeks. She avoided eye contact and caughed nervously. "Uhm... Of course?" The way she said it made it sound like a question. I couldn't help but laugh as I grabbed her hand and walked towards the kitchen. "It's fine, I'll teach you. You'll be a big help no matter what~"

-A few hours later-

We stood in the middle of the kitchen, flour on the floor and on Nadia's clothes. The cooks had given us aprons, as I knew she would need it. She looked soo focused, so sure she would finish this. It was cute to see the level of determination on her face. I stepped over to her as she put the cake into the oven. She turned back around and I smiled as our faces were really close now. She put her hands on her hips and confidently smiled down at me. "So, how did I do? Told you I could manage this." I chuckled and lifted my finger up to her face. I whiped off some cream from her nose and liked my index finger. It was sweet. Maybe even sweeter? This made her blush and I smiled at her. "Yes, you did perfectly. Now who will clean up this mess?" I asked her teasingly but Portia burst into the kitchen, cutting off our laughter. "It's- What happened here?" She asked upon seeing the mess of flour and cream on the floor. Nadia shrugged and I laughed. "Whatever, I'll ask the others to clean it up later. The guests will be here in an hour!" She exclaimed and I gasped. "Oh no, we need to get ready! We can't possibly show up in front of your parents like this?!" I started hyperventilating again, and Nadia started stroking my back calmingly. I sighed. "Thank you Portia. Please take care of the cake that's in the oven! Oh and everything needs to be set on the veranda!" I shouted as Nadia shoved me out into the hallway. "You shouldn't worry so much. Come, let's go to the baths, we need to wash this off." I agreed and we hurried down the hallways. After finally washing off all the flour dust and cream and what not that was stuck to my skin and hair, Nadia made the chamberlain prepare some garments for us. I turned a few times in front of the mirror. I was wearing a dress that went beyond my legs, touching the ground. The cloth was mainly made out of different shades of red, miniature flower patterns strown about. Around my waist it seemed to darked into black and a dark yellow cloth was wrapped around it, making my hips stand out even more. Nadia hugged me and kissed the top of my head lovingly. "You look stunning." I chuckled shyly and we made our way to the veranda. Two people came into sight as we ascended the stairs. One was a woman, with long white locks and golden eyes, the other was a very feminine man with long brown locks and purplish eyes. They both smiled upon seeing Nadia, and the man got up and hurried over to her immediately. He hugged her tightly. "Oh Noddy, how I missed you!" He exclaimed and I smiled. He seemed very affectionate. "You've done well with the place. Everything reminds me of you." Her mother said and beckoned us over to sit. We sat down opposite them, and I held out my hand for the woman. She shook my hand and smiled. "Pleased to meet you, I'm Y/N." I said and she chuckled "Oh, we know. I'm Nasrin." She said, which confused me. "And I'm Namar. We were so excited to meet Noddy's princess!" He exclaimed after shaking my hand and I blushed a little. "So tell me, Y/N what do you do?" Nasrin asked me and I started explaining. "Ah, so you were a magician's apprentice?" "I still am. Well, actually I'm not an apprentice anymore. I moved into the palace a few months ago." Namar beamed at that and spoke up. "Noddy, I never imagined you'd find such a lovely lady after that disgrace of a Count." He definitely referred to Lucio with that. Nadia chuckled. "Thanks, baba. I'm glad too." She said and looked at me fondly. The evening went by amusingly fast and around noon Namar and Nasrin got up. "Thank you both for all the lovely foods and teas, Y/N you truly are a master of cakes." Nasrin said which made me happy. Nadia and I waved goodbye as they got onto their carriage and drove away. As soon as they were out of sight, I dropped my shoulder. All the chatting and baking and preparing made me tired. "Sweetie, you were amazing today. They already love you. Now, let's go get some rest, you seem very tired." Nadia said and I nodded. Both of us walked back to her room for a good night's sleep.
