You walked down the crowded streets of Vesuvia. The folks were on the streets, talking, laughing, gossiping. It was noon, which meant the Parade had started. You hurried over to the edge of the crowd, onto the street, trying to get away from all the people. A carriage was coming your way without your notice. As you heard the horses neigh, it already felt too late. You looked up and a moment later, someone grabbed your arm, yanking you backwards into a sidewalk. You tried to catch your breath, as your back was firmly pressed against the stranger's chest. It was rising up and down calmly. You turned around, curious of who had saved you. As you looked up at your saviour, your heart stopped for a second before starting to beat rapidly. Before you was the count's doctor. His gaze shifted over you, checking if you were alright. "Are you okay? Everything where it should be?" He asked you, and you nodded, a blush slowly decorating your cheeks. "I'm fine. Thank you!" You said and bowed to him. He laughed nervously. "You don't need to bow! I'm Julian. And may I ask your name?" He asked as he stared at your eyes for a bit too long and you smiled back. "You may. It's Y/N." "Ah, what a beautiful name you have, milady." He joked, and you chuckled. -That was the day you met him-

You smiled, as you looked at a picture. It was of you and Julian...Your ex boyfriend. It was exactly five months after the day that changed everything. You sighed, as you put the picture away, and concentrated on getting ready. It was early morning, and you heard the birds chirping outside. You breathed in the fresh air coming from your opened window. You got up from the softness of your bed and closed it. You slowly started dressing into your every day clothes and grabbed your stash. "Let's do this!" You said to yourself and marched downstairs. You reached the backroom of the small shop, and the familiar smell of herbs hit your nose. You smiled, as you walked to the curtains that separated the front of the shop from the back, and pushed them slightly apart. You peered into the still closed shop, noticing him. Asra was standing at the counter, and was pouring some liquid into a glass bottle mixing it with some herbs. You stepped out from the courtains, and he finally noticed you. He gave you a gentle smile, and you felt at ease. "Morning, Asra!" You said and he greeted you back. "Morning, how did you sleep?" He continued to put thing in order on the shelves, as you spoke up. "Good. I woke up just right. "You said with a smile and he nodded, walking over to the door seeming a bit distracted. "Great. Ah, before I forget, could you maybe go to the market? I'll give you a list." He said and you nodded immediately. Asra opened the door and the little bell in the corner frame rung. The courtains got pulled to the side, so street goers could see the welcoming open door of our shop. Asra walked over to the counter, fumbling around in a bag, before finally finding what he was looking for. "Ah-ha! Here." He said and pressed a piece of paper into your palm. It was the list for the market. You smiled. You put it in your stash and headed out. "I'll hurry back!" You told him and he watched as you stepped out and left. The market wasn't too far from the Palace, which meant you could see the gates from there. It reminded you of him and it hurt too much. You sighed and shook your head as you looked up to find the first few people forming around the market entrance. You took off to the first vendor. "Good morning Y/N! Off to a good morning I see?" The man said, grabbed some bread and wrapped them in a cloth. "Here, I know how much you like 'em!" He said and you bowed at him with a smile. You happily replaced the cloth with coins and put them into his warm hands, then waved goodbye and walked to the next stand. As you put the last ingredient into your bag, you sighed. You turned around, ready to walk back to the shop, as you suddenly stopped. You felt a presence. You closed your eyes and concentrated on it. It felt warm and had a strong pull to it. You let this power guide you, and your feet started to move forward on their own. After a few turns you stopped, opening your eyes finally. You were a bit surprised. You stood in front of the woods. You tilted your head to the right. Why did it lead you to the forest? You decided to follow it regardless. Something about it seemed odd, but at the same time alluring and familiar. You stepped through the trees, seeing a small cottage in the distance. It was pretty, with flowers all around it and a small cat nuzzled in between a few lillies. You furrowed your brows. This was Portia's house, but why were you here? You walked closer and started hearing a loud argument from inside. You couldn't help but smile. What did she get herself into now? You stopped at the door, ready to knock as you heard their conversation clearer now. "What did you think would happen? Huh? You made me mourn you and so did Y/N! Honestly, I can't believe you!" Portia shouted at the person angrily. "B-but it was all for you and Y/N and of course the others. I didn't dare pull you into the mess I'd made. Especially Y/N!" Your mind became hazy. This couldn't be..was that. No..He was hung in front of all of Vesuvia, this couldn't be him..It just- You shook your head and breathed in. Determined you reached for the doorknob and swung the door wide open. Portia and the other person nearly doubled over backwards when they saw you standing there. And you almost lost it. There he was, alive, not a single scar on his perfect body. Julian stared back at you with wide eyes, searching for words. "Y/N! I-I can explain!" Julian stuttered, but you didn't care. You jumped at him, arms wide open, burying your face in his chest. You had missed the sound of his voice, the feeling of his arms around you, his presence. Him being alive. Tears fell from your eyes and you shuddered as he pulled you closer. "I'm sorry." You said, which surprised him a lot. "No, why are you apologizing? I should be the one to-" "No! I couldn't protect you. After I saw you die I thought that I was never meant to be the right one for you, soo many bad emotions overcame me.." You sobbed into his chest and he rubbed your back in comfort. "It had to be done...I promise I'll explain everything to you once you calm down, but believe me when I say that I never wanted you to feel this miserable. I love you Y/N. And always will. Please forgive me." He said and you could feel tears on the top of your head. Was he crying too? You loosened the hug a bit so you could look at his face. He looked away but you grabbed his cheek gently and pulled his face so you could look into his eye(s). "Julian, no matter what, even if I have to wait a thousand years, I'll always love you. I promise you!" You exclaimed and smashed your lips together. The moment was brilliant and you missed this feeling ever so much. But Portia interrupted you. "Uhm...I don't want to be a nuisance here, but I think all your lovey-dovey stuff can wait until after Ilya here explains himself. I think he owes both of us that much." She said, crossing her arms in front of her chest. You nodded, letting go of your beloved. All three of you sat down at Portia's table and started listening to Julian's ramblings and excuses.
