chapter 17: visitors

Barry's pov:

I sat in the speed lab watching Emma. She was practicing her hand to hand combat with Ralph, he needed it more than her actually. It had been about 4 months since the incident with Raider and it was almost like she had disappeared. Cisco has ran so many scans and she's never appeared. I wasn't going to let Emma go on missions alone until we found her. I hear Emma laugh which brings me out of my thoughts. "I win stretchy!" She yells holding her arms in the air and jumping up and down. I see Ralph laying on the floor and smile. "I let you win Smol Flashie." He retorted. She giggles and helps him up, I stand to my feet, "good job Emma. Maybe next time Ralph." I say and let out a chuckle. "Shut up rookie." He says and walks away rubbing his backside. Me and Emma look at each other and laugh when the meta alert goes off. We walk into the cortex. "What's up?" I ask. "A breach just opened near the coast." Harry says. I speed change into my suit and come back into the cortex to see Emma has done the same. Cisco sends us our coordinates and we run out. On the way I see a crook snatch a lady's purse. I run over in front of him and he runs right into me. "Going somewhere?" I ask. He looks up at me in shock and I quickly knock him out. I grab the womans purse and walk it back to her. "Thank you Flash!" She says smiling at me. "No problem." I say and zoom off to where I was heading. As I run up I see Jay, and Emma standing there frozen, I stop beside her and smile. "Hi Jay." I say. He smiles, "hi. Who is this?" He asks pointing to Emma. I smile, "This is Emma. Emma this is Jay." I introduce them. "Hi Emma. It's nice to meet you." Jay says with a friendly smile and he holds out his hand. Emma slowly grabs it, "Hi Jay." She says awkwardly. Jay laughs and pulls his hand away. "She looks like you." He says to me. I smile, "could be cause she's my daughter." I say and grin. "Oh. That explains it." He says. I laugh and then mine and Emma's phones beep. "Um... I'll handle it." She says and zooms off. "She's fast." Jay says. I chuckle, "yeah. She's been training." I say and smile proudly. "I'm guessing she's a teenager." He says, I nod my head. "She looked confused about something when she ran up." Jay says concerned. "Really?" I ask. He nods his head. "So how are you guys?" He asks. "Pretty good. And you?" I ask with a small smile. "Great." He says. "So what did you come here for? Did you need help with something?" I ask. "The Trickster escaped and I need help analyzing an explosive." He says holding the device up. "Well let's get to it. I say and smile. We run back to Star Labs and I set up an area for us to work in. "I'm gonna go see if Emma wants to help." I say, Jay smiles and I walk towards the speed lab.

Emma's pov:

I punched the punching bag I had set up. Who was this dude? And why did he look like my grandfather! I think to myself. Then I hear dad's voice. "Hey kiddo. Wanna help us analyze this explosive?" He asks and gives me a small smile. I stop punching the bag and give a small smile. "Sure." I say and walk into the cortex with him. We examine the bomb inside and out when I notice something odd. "This is weird." I say confused. "What?" Dad asks peeking over my shoulder. "Well, the bomb has alot of DNA strands on it. And the DNA has dark matter in it." I say looking up at him, I move out of the way and he takes a look at what I found. "That is weird." He says. Jay smiles and grabs his things. "Thank you for your help." He says. Dad smiles, "no problem." Dad says. Jay looks at me and tips his hat, I smile and then he runs out. I walk into the speed lab when a meta alert goes off. "I got it!" I yell and change into my suit. I grab the coordinates from Cisco and zoom out. When I get there I freeze when I notice a man in a suit like dad's but it's yellow. "Who are you?" I ask, then I remember some of Ciscos stories, Reverse Flash! The man walks towards me. "I've waited a long time for this." He says and let's out a laugh. I roll my eyes, "listen fanboy make this easy on yourself and give up now." I say getting into a fighting stance. The man let's out a small chuckle. "I was gonna kill The Flash but you would do nicely." He says and zooms toward me. I move out of the way, "oh he** no!" I say. Before I can even think he has already ran back and grabbed me. He runs and next thing I know we are at Star Labs in the cortex. He holds me up in front of everyone. "You better put me down! There is no way I am this light!" I yell struggling to get out of his grasp. "Oh no." I hear Caitlin say. "Yet again I will take someone from The Flash." The man says. "Could you, for one second, stop being a fanboy turned evil and, Get your slimy hands off of me!" I say swinging my arms and legs. I catch a glimpse of Cisco trying not to laugh. The man rolls his eyes, "I'm gonna be so happy when I kill you." He says. I stop struggling and mock him, "I'm gONna BE So hAPpy." He glares at me, and I raise my eyebrow, "oh I know you ain't glaring at me." I say then I hear Cisco giggle again and I look over at him. "Sorry, you looked just like Barry." He says. I roll my eyes. "Well, I got to go. And I'm takin this with me." Reverse Flash says. "Yo imma slap you." I say folding my arms. I watch as Caitlin grabs her phone, then the mans eyes start glowing. "Why are you being so extra?" I ask him. I hear Caitlin talking to dad and then he appears. Dad stands in front of him a look on his face I've never seen before. "Put her down." Dad says through his teeth. Reverse Flash laughs, "see ya soon flash." He says and runs out with me. I try to get free while he's running but it's no use. When we stop I look around and we are at the waterfront. Reverse Flash puts me down and starts to vibrate his hand. I give him an unimpressed look and then dad runs up. Then this man throws me into the ocean! I swim up to the surface, "oh no he didn't!" I say! I run on top of the water and then when I get on land I use all my force and knock Reverse Flash out. "Did you really think I couldn't swim?" I ask. When I look at dad I see him trying not to laugh. "Holo." I say and smile. "You are too relaxed. Why are you so calm?" He asks. I smile and pull out a pair of sunglasses and put them on upside down and smile. "Smooth." Dad says and laughs. "Thanks. He's extra." I say pointing at Reverse Flash. Dad nods his head, "yeah. But to be fair, so are you." He says and points at my glasses. "No denying that." I say with a laugh and take off the glasses. Both our phones beep. "Again?" Dad asks. "I shrug my shoulders. "You take him to Star Labs I'll go see what's up." I say. Dad nods, "be careful." He says. "Always." I respond and smile. I run off, "Cisco where too?" I ask through the comms. It's in your dad's old neighborhood." He says. "Thanks!" I say and zoom straight there. When I get there and see who it is my heart drops. I clench my fists, "You." I say trying to fight back tears. "Hello." The man in the black suit from my dad's past. I tackle him and start to punch him! He kicks me off and stands to his feet, I grab him by his neck and run him to a cell in Star Labs. I pin him against the wall by his neck when I feel a gust of wind behind me. "Emma! Put him down." Dad says walking over. I drop him and walk out of the cell. I lock it and then zoom out, I hear dad call my name as I run out. I run to the beach and sit down near the water. I turn of my GPS. I just wanted to be alone.
