Rose sat at home a few hours later. Her legs tucked beneath her, a blanket thrown over her legs, and a good book stationed expertly in her hands. Her wand lit up beside her, casting a warm glow over the darkened living room. She'd been in the same spot for hours, devouring the pages in front of her at an ungodly speed. She was ashamed to admit that it had been a while since she sat around reading a book. With tutoring and wedding plan there simply was no time. Now that she'd found a spare moment she couldn't put it down. The book was fascinating. It was about a wizard in his old age, as he recounted his time spent in a fictitious muggle war. It reminded her of Scorp.

After she left Scorp's new house, she'd stopped over at her Mum's shop like promised. Her and Hermione sat around talking for a good hour about the new books that were delivered to the store earlier and about the upcoming wedding before Ron had shown up.

He greeted her warmly, with a big hug and a soft smile. When Rose mentioned that she had been with Scorp, she was almost certain she'd seen her dad smile.  But that must have been a trick of the light. There was no way her father would be smiling about her spending time with Scorpius Malfoy. She must have been seeing things.

"Is now a good time?" Griffon asked, interrupting Rose's reading.

She popped her head up to see him waving around various pieces of parchment in his hands.

Rose forced down her internal groan, grabbed a bookmark, and set her book on the coffee table in front of her. Sitting up, she crossed her legs in front of her. "Sure. What's up?"

He plopped down next to her, handing off some of the documents in his hand. "I think we need to start making some decisions. I know Lily said she'd handle most of it but she's been owling us nonstop about picking and choosing the specifics of what we want."

Rose closed her eyes in defeat. They'd been engaged for a few weeks now but anytime the topic of the actual wedding was brought up, Rose shut down. There were so many little details and obsessive nit-picky things. It all seemed overdone. It was a wedding. It was supposed to be a ceremony to celebrate the love and the eternal bond of two people. It wasn't meant to be about cakes and dresses and who should and shouldn't be invited. Rose despised the whole idea of it. If she had it her way it would be a simple ceremony. A little ceremony in the backyard of the Burrow, just like her parents. Only her family and closest friends. Homemade goods and Gran's cooking. Flowers from the garden. Nothing extravagant or over the top. Simple and all about them.

She didn't have it her way. Griffon wanted to invite all his friends. To him, a 'friend' was anyone he had spoken to longer than five minutes within the past few years. That meant the Burrow was too small to hold all their guests. Griffon came up with an alternative idea to use the Cannon's practice field.

Rose wasn't entirely fond of that idea, but Griffon seemed so excited Rose couldn't stand to veto it. The practice field wasn't terrible. It was in a remote location, only accessible by permission-granted portkey. This ensured that no paparazzi or unwanted guests would get in. Plus it would be big enough to hold all of Griffon's friends.

After their announcement dinner at the Burrow, Lily set to work right away ordering the flowers and decorations. She had been hounding Rose for weeks to contribute her thoughts but Rose truly had none to give. Lily wanted to put up white chairs directed to a flower-based alter right in front of the rings. On the other side of the pitch, they'd set up the reception. Lily arranged for there to be a nice white tent, complete with a dance floor to prevent the grass from being torn up. The food and tables for dinner would be positioned to one side, so there would still be enough room for dancing. Rose simply said okay.

In theory, it all sounded perfect but Rose still felt like a weight had been dropped on her heart and she couldn't figure out why.

"What do we need to figure out yet?" Rose asked.
