Discovery

Harrys POV

I sat by Jennifers bed, rubbing her hand with my thumbs as I watched her sleep.

I sighed and climbed in next to her.

She moved a little and snuggled against me but stayed asleep.

I kissed her head and just held her.

'Oh my beautiful Jennifer..', I whispered, 'What am I going to do with you? It breaks my heart to see you like this... I can tell you're giving up and that's just not you. If I could take all your pain away and put it on myself I would do it in a second. I remember the moment we met. I was late and you were mad and sassy. But I knew, I had to have you. I had never been in love but you changed that. You turned the nasty player into a big softy', I whispered and smiled.

I gave her a soft kiss between her eyes.

'So I need you to get better baby because it's breaking my heart. Our girls need you and so do I. I love you', I said.

2 hours later...

Jen was awake and we were watching TV, cuddled up in her hospital bed.

'How are you feeling baby'? I asked.

'Not to great', she replied softly.

'I'm sorry honey... I wish I could help you', I replied.

'You are. If you wern't here I would be 100x worse', she said and hugged me.

The doctor walked in to check up on her.

I had an idea.

'Hey can you do a CT scan of her heart? Like now', I asked.

'Yeah that would be fine', he said.

Jen just raised her eyebrow.

We went to the Radiology department and they got her on the table.

I went back to stand with the Radiologist in charge of taking the pictures. I vaguely remember this stuff, my grandpa used to be a Radiologist and I was allowed to come along sometimes.

The images of her heart started to come in.

'Holy shit', I said.

He glanced at the pictures and took his glasses off.

'Thats a tumor... a damn big one', he said and walked to Jen and stopped the machine.

He walked to me.

'Get her up slowly and carefully, carry her and follow me, she needs surgery before that thing breaks loose and causes her to go into cardiac arrest. All the coughing knocked it loose', he said.

I walked to Jen.

'Done so fast'? she asked.

'Oh yeah, come on', I said.

She stood up and felt dizzy.

'Come here girlie', I said and lifted her.

'Where are we going?', she asked when we turned the corner that headed away from her hospital room.

'You need to have a quick procedure done to fix something in your heart baby', I said.

She just sighed.

We got to the operating room and were greeted by a team of 10 doctors.

'Fucking shit... I just wanna take a nap', she grumbled.

'I promise you that when this is over, you can sleep as long as you want', I said as I laid her down.

A doctor started the IV drip on her arm to put her to sleep and I knelt down at her level.

'I'll be here when you wake up princess. You're gonna feel so much better', I said.

She yawned and gave me that pretty little grin.

'I love you Har', she said.

'I love you too Jenny. Have a nice nap', I said and pecked her lips then softly kissed her cheek.

She closed her eyes.

'Annnd, she's out', the doctor said.

'Love you... so much my queen', I said and kissed her hand.

'Please just fix her', I said.

'Hey, we found the source of the problem thanks to you. She wouldv'e died, had you not suggested the CT scan. Now we know what the issue is and how to fix it. A non-cancerous tumor. We should be done in a few hours if it goes smoothly. One of us will be out to get you before we wake her up. It won't cure her of the problem where her heart goes crazy if it beats to fast but this is gonna make her feel so much better and it will lessen the problem. Excuse us, we should get started and fix your girl', He said.

I just smiled and walked out.

I sat in the waiting room and caught a tear flowing down my cheek.

She's finally gonna be healthy.

I pray she comes out better and things go smooth during her surgery...
