Leahs POV

I got a call from Harry that Jen collapsed and was taken to the emergency room.

I left the girls with a neighbor and rushed to the hospital.

When I walked in, Harry was in the waiting room with his head in his hands.

'Hey what happened'?! I asked frantically.

'Jen collapsed', he said, his voice shaking and without looking up at me.

'Where is she'!?

'She's being worked on..', he said.

'Harry.. is she gonna be okay'?

He just looked down and cried.

'Harry..'?, I asked softly.

'I dont know Leah! I just wish she wouldv'e talked to me and told me how sick she was. This is my fault', He said quietly.

'Oh Harry no', I said rubbing his shoulder, 'It is not  your fault. She's had a heart condition since she was born'.

'Yeah but she's fine until shes stressed. I've brought her nothing but stress for like four months! And the baby... I can't even think of her losing the baby', He said.

I just sighed and sat down.

'You should go back with the girls Leah. Mya doesn't like strangers', he said.

'I know.. I'll bring them back with me later because I love Jenny too Harry, I need to see her', I said.

'Sounds good', he said.

I stood up and walked to him.

'She'll be fine big guy, shes's tough. You know that', I said and left.

Harrys POV

I was sitting in the waiting room and the doctor walked in.

He walked over and sat in a chair next to me.

'Harry Connick Jr'? he asked.

'Yeah.. Is Jen okay'? I asked, half not wanting to know the answer.

'Jennifer is critical right now. We had to preform open heart surgery to replace a collapsed valve. It's not going to cure her but it should make life somewhat easier until we can operate more in the future. Her heart valves are only running at 40% but this surgery bumped it up to 60% but that still isn't ideal.  Right now she is on medication to keep her heart calm and slow so the new valve can start to work. She is hooked up to a lot of different things. She's awake and everything but we are advising that she doesn't speak. She's slow and very out of it. She HAS to stay relaxed and calm. She should be ready to go home in a week. Your Mrs Connick is a tough little thing', he said.

I was trying not to cry.

'W-what about the baby'? I asked.

'She's just fine', he said.

'Will Jennifer be okay? Like in the long run?', I asked.

He just sighed.

'Thats hard to know. We have to watch her close', he said.

And the words echoed in my mind..

That's hard to know..
