parallels befween cecil gershwin palmer and jonathan sims!!!!!! or, more accurately, contrasts!!!!!!!!!!!!! its like theyre foils but from DIFFERENT SHOWS and theyre my FAVORITE SHOWS and agdkahdak!!!!!!

the most obvious is their difference in character arcs!!!!!!!!!!!!! jon puts up the whole skeptic act, despite believing things deep down, and has to sorta grapple w that, which is a plot point in 40!!!!! WHEREAS!!!!!!!!! cecil has to do basically the opposite- hell, all of night vale does!!!!!!! thats the plot of matryoshka and summer 2017 night vale usa- coming to terms with the fact that these supernatural things are ABnormal, not normal like jon has to!!!!!!!!!! haha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its also kinda funny because their romances are TOTALLY DIFFERENT- cecil's DEFINITELY the martin in jonmartin, although those relationships themselves are very different and cecil and martin have little in common, it is funny how drastically differently they - jon and cec - respond to it!! theres something else along those lines but its a mild s2 spoiler- OOOOOH and another funny coincidence!! their romantic interest in martin/carlos were written later and wasnt originally planned!!!!!!!! granted, cecil's feelings for carlos were added MUCH earlier on than jon's, but jts still- its still NEAT hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oo, plus they both have trauma regarding incidents that have led to them having a strong emotional reaction to a trigger tied to the event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mirrors, the worm thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and of course the similarity in thematics - eyes, horror, et cetera - its really cool!!!!!! unintentional obvi im not saying its some Intentional Plan for cecil and jon to parallel the way they do but let me have my connections- its kinda neat because they have a lot in common, but because the bitterness in jon was heavily emphasized and the chaos in cecil was heavily emphasized and their worldviews are digferent, theyre WILDLY different characters with wildly different arcs AH im having such fun i cant stop nouncing and my pjone is about to die because i cant stop dancing around the room- oh also theyre both nd thems just the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its neat yanno?? neat neat neat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no real comparisons can be made between gertrude robinson and leonard burton but they do have a semi-similar role?? anyway!! i love them both sm ajd i wanna draw them together and :D- OO THAT REMINDS ME I SHOULD MAKE MY KEV AND CEC REFERENCES!!!!!!!!
