Drunken Mistake

The Test

Betty POV:

I place the test on the counter and begin the timer on my phone and begin waiting, I pace back and fourth as I await the results wondering how 3 little minutes can feel like a lifetime but it's quite simple actually. Three minutes feel like an eternity because this little test holds the power to change your entire life. I continue to pace back and fourth, getting lost in thought when finally I hear the timer go off. I quickly run towards the counter and stare down at the test letting out a breath. 

"Please be negative" I whisper to myself as I flip the test over. I break down as I stare down at the two pink lines that are shown on the test, confirming that my worst nightmare is becoming a reality. I slide down against my door and throwing the test across the bathroom in anger. How could I be so stupid!? I cry and cry for about ten minutes when I quickly stand up and grab my phone calling the one person that I know won't judge me. I press on her contact with my shaky finger and place it on my ear as I wait for her to answer. 

"B!" She squeals out in excitement. 

"Oh thank god you answered Veronica" I say to her in relief. 

"What's wrong?" She then asks me, knowing very well that she's probably frowning. 

"Do you think we can go somewhere to talk? I really need a friend and you're literally the only one I feel like I can turn to right now" I say to her truthfully.

"Of course B, Pops in ten?" She asks me 

"Yes, I'll see you there" I say to her then quickly hang up and rush into my room, taking off my sweats and putting on some leggings and a v-neck shirt along with a zip up sweater. I look in the mirror and try my best to look like I haven't been crying and once I'm satisfied with my look I run downstairs. 

"Hey mom, I'm heading to Pops" I yell out to her. 

"With Toni?" She asks with worry, quickly turning around to look at me 

"Uhm no, with Veronica actually the new girl" I remind her.

"Ahh yes the Lodge girl, I like her" She tells me with a big smile "That's fine, just don't be out too late okay? It's a school night" 

"Yeah, of course" I reply to her and hurry out the door. I begin my walk when I feel my phone begin to vibrate but I don't look at it since I think it's Veronica calling me to let me know that she's already at Pops. 

I finally arrive at the diner and walk inside, immediately getting greeted by Pops himself who is always so happy and that always warms my heart. I scan the retro diner until my eyes land on Veronica and walk towards her. 

"Hey V" I say to her with a smile as I slide into the booth. 

"B" She replies to me instantly with a smile of her own. I look over at her and try to find the words to say but I'm still lost and confused, trying to come to terms with it myself but before either of us can say anything Pop's come up to us with his wide smile "Do you girls know what you'll be having tonight?" He asks us. 

"I'll just have a chocolate shake Pops" Says Veronica with a smile 

"And for you Betty?" He asks me
