Drunken Mistake

Goodbye, Uncle Sweet Pea

Narrator POV:

Jughead watched as they lowered his friends casket down into the ground '6 feet deep' he said repeatedly in his mind and tears flowing out of his piercing blues. Gently he held onto his beloveds hand and casually stealing glances at her just so his day could get a little sunshine in this very cloudy day. The last two weeks have gone painfully slow and were honestly the worst two weeks of his life, he continuously blamed himself for the death of his friend and that kept him up at night. How was he suppose to keep on living while his friend lost his life. The guilt haunted him both day and night but he refused to let this drive a wedge between himself and Betty if anything they were brought a lot closer especially after agreeing to name their baby after the man they will be thankful too for the rest of their lives. 

The funeral ended and before Jughead walked off to the car, he slowly walked up to the newly buried grave and crouched down. Betty turned her head slightly forming a small sad smile on her face as she see's her love saying his final good-bye to his best friend. She looked down at her belly and smiled "Say goodbye to uncle Sweet pea, Jordan" She says to herself as she watched Jughead then slowly walked off giving Jughead his privacy a moment that he needs all to himself. 

"We're naming him Jordan, after you" Jughead begins, sniffling as he looks down "It was truly a both a blessing and an honor to have known you Sweets, I know that there will never be someone as loyal as you, I just wished that you were still here to witness the birth of my child and knock some sense into me when I fuck things up" Jughead continues as he wipes tears out of his eyes and looks up at the gloomy sky feeling like the world is also in mourning since it knows that they lost a real one "I'll see you again friend, I'm sorry about all of this I love you" And with that Jughead smiles down at the grave and nods then turns around walking away but feeling like he's leaving behind a piece of himself.

"Hey" Betty says to Jughead as she walks into their room, a plate of food in hand and a small smile placed on her lips as she walks towards him. 

"Hey beautiful" Jughead replies, turning towards her instead of the window. 

"I brought you something to eat, since I noticed that you haven't ate all day" She says to him, handing him the plate then quickly taking a seat besides him. Jughead grabs the plate but only places it aside since he really doesn't feel like eating but he knows that if he doesn't have something soon that he'll make Betty worry and that's the last thing he wants to do right now. He smiles over at her and looks at her with loving eyes since he knows that it could be any day that he could become a father. 

"How are you feeling?" He asks her, extending his arm out and places it on her belly. She giggles a bit since she feels little Jordan beginning to kick "I should be the one to ask you that" She replies  to him, tilting her head to the side so she can get a better view of his handsome face. 

Jughead scoffs playfully and looks up at Betty with a smile "Actually Betts you can go into labor any day now so no you shouldn't be the one to ask me that but I do appreciate you caring about me" He replies to her but not taking his hand away from her belly. "Of course I care about you baby and I'm also worried about you, you haven't had a good size meal in almost two weeks and I know that isn't much of a concern if you were somebody else but giving how much you eat and the times you eat, I'm worried" She says to him. Jughead takes his beanie off and tosses it besides him and runs his hands through his hair letting out a sigh, knowing that she has a point. He can never get anything pass Betty and he loves her for it, she isn't afraid to ever call him out on his shit and this time isn't an exception even if he did just lose one of his best friends. 

"I'm sorry for making you worry baby but I promise you that i'll begin eating again, I just need sometime to get back to normal" He tells her with a sad smile, a smile that she returns he places his head onto her lap and she begins to play with his hair ignoring the fact that his food was getting cold, they stayed in a comfortable silence until Veronica and Archie busted through the door, causing Jughead to sit up in a flash and Betty jump up in fear "Jesus, maybe knock next time" Betty hissed out to her friends as she placed a hand over her heart, feeling it beating faster because of the scare she just had. 

"Seriously guys, we just had someone try to take Betty and you guys barge in here like the damn police" Jughead snarls, snaking a hand around Betty's waist and pulling her towards him. 

"Sorry" Veronica simply replies with a smile but holding onto a few shopping bags that seem to catch Betty's attention. "What do you have there?" Betty asks not being able to fight the urge that she feels within her but also not being able to deny the feeling of a harsh pressure begin to bubble up in her stomach but she decides not to mention it. 

"Veronica dragged me to the mall and well we couldn't fight the urge to go into all of the baby shops that they have there and well we kind of went a little too crazy in buying stuff for our nephew" Archie answers, Veronica walks over to Bettys bed and places the bags on top of it and begins showing the soon to be parents all the little outfits that they had gotten for Jordan. 

"This is so cute!" Betty squeals out, picking up a little onesie that says "Mommy's little rockstar" with a guitar next to it. Jughead couldn't help but to smile wide as he looks at the little clothes, realizing that in any moment his son will be in this world. 

"Uh-Oh" He hears Betty say, the three friends look over at the blonde beauty but quickly look down at the puddle of water that surround her feet. 

"Eww Betty, you could've just walked to the bathroom" Archie states earning him a slap on the back of the head by Veronica, Jughead widens his eyes and looks up at his girl with an exciting smiles "I think your son wants out" is all Betty said.
