Meditation

Chapter 5 > meditation

Everyone just stared at their smart brother, except Raph. He was too shocked to even think. His head was down and there was a ringing inside.
His mind was repeating the sentence Donnie said over and over again,

"That Raph is going insane."
"Going insane."
"Insane."

"WHAT!?" Both Leo and Mikey snapped while they shoot confused daggers at Donnie. Donnie just told them to calm down. Splinter was looking down at his traumatized son in sorrow. He didn't know the cause.

"What do you mean he's going insane, Don!?" Leo asked once more and scooted a bit closer to Donnie. "What I mean is, he's having a mental illness, and his actions are out of control of his brain. Basically he's going mad." (Yeah, I'm no psychologist there.)

Mikey was the first to speak again,
"But- But he was fine like two days ago, Don!"

"Maybe it was hidden all the time. We don't know."

"But an insane person would go crazy instantly, right?"

"Leo, we're not just any person, we're mutants. And we are biologically different."

Their voices soon became nothing but a loud ringing to Raph. They were just making it worse. His eyes darted around in fear, he didn't know what to do. 'Maybe I am going mad. That was my whole problem in my entire life!'
'I'm so dangerous right now. What if I hurt them?'

Raph soon decided it was his cue to leave. Since their argument became yelling. They were just making it worse for him. Splinter noticed his son's uneasiness and tried to calm the others down. But it was no use. Eventually, Raph slowly crawled away from them without them noticing. He got help from the wall and stood up, his legs shaking madly.

He gathered all his strength and ran out. The others noticed and called after him. "Raph!"

Oncw he made it to his room, he shut the door after himself and collapsed on the ground. He was really mad. The others followed after him, making it to the door. Unfortunately for Raph, he forgot to lock the door. He was clenching his hands to his plastron while slightly panting. What was he doing? He kept asking.

"Ok ok. It's better if only one of us goes in. He would panic more if we go in at the same time." Donnie said out loud for others. They were standing only meters away from the door. Everyone glanced at each other for answer.

"My sons, I shall go in." The rat said warmly. It was better for some quality time with his sons and calming him down. The three just nodded while they walked away a bit for some privacy.

Splinter sighed and twisted the door handle. Once he opened the door, he found his son on the floor panting softly. But his actions weren't soft. He was on his two knees while he bent downwards on his two hands, one hand on his chest.

The rat sighed and walked towards his student. "Don't- Don't come near me! I'm- I'm dangerous!" Splinter bent to his son's head and caressed his face. He saw nothing but fear and panic in his eyes which were now as small as a dot.

No words were said when the rat hugged the panicking turtle, holding him in his embrace. After what seemed like eternity, Raph calmed down enough to behave calmly.

His voice broke the silence,
"Sensei..what am I gonna do?" The rat thought for some moments. "Try not to think about it my son. It will only give you more anxiety to go mad again." Raph frowned but only nodded slowly.

"How am I gonna do that?"
"Perhaps some meditation will work."
Raph's eyes widened. "But, Sensei I'm not good at-" "You must try." Raph sighed in defeat and nodded.

On the other side of the door, were three brothers talking to each other about what happened. Although, Leo said less. He was constantly touching his neck, the pressure Raph caused, it hurt a bit when he did so. He didn't blame Raph though.

"Wouh dude! You have a bruise!" Leo snapped out of his thoughts. "Huh?"
"Look!" Mikey quickly took out his phone and took a picture of Leo's neck. Clear enough at least. He showed it to Leo.

Leo took the phone gently and gazed at it. He saw his neck that was forming a very dark blue stain, much like a three-fingered hand. He slightly frowned and gave Mikey back his phone. "Yeah, that's a pretty bad bruise. I should treat it for you." "No need Don."

Their conversation was interrupted by Splinter coming out of the room with Raph; who was covering his arms with crossing them. He didn't look up either, a blank expression on his face.

"I decided that it was better if Raphael and I ate together at the dojo." Raph nodded in response, still looking down. The three glances at each other and nodded.

-some time later-

Raph and Splinter were now getting ready for a starter meditation for Raph. Leo was slowly peeking from the dojo entrance. 'Wonder how Raph is gonna do. He's not good at sitting somewhere doing nothing.' Leo thought while he mentally chuckled.

"Get your mind off of everything. Make it all empty. Imagine as if you never saw a thing in your life."(again idk what I'm saying.)

Raph only frowned and clenched his teeth softly, but adjusted to it afterwards. Splinter, though, was proud. 'Wow, he's doing good.' Leo was amused. He thought Raph would only sleep or snap and get away, but no. He was actually doing something.

Leo hoped this problem of Raph would disappear. He didn't want more trouble.
