Chapter 10 > The War Begins

Narrator's P.O.V

They all launched at each other, shouting in rage. Dr. Rockwell and Leatherhead went for the head while others focused on the rest of the body.

However, this was harder than they expected. The ultimate Shredder kicked them all away with only one try. 'Damn, he's tougher than I thought.' Leo thought to himself, getting goosebumps. But now was not the time to fear, so he lunged again, dipping his katanas through Shredder's leg.

Shredder let out a groan while kicking Leo away. Leo was send away, getting threw in a wall. "Leo!" Raph called out while lunging at Shredder with his Sais. However, he was blocked with two mutant arms. The mutated Shredder loosened his eyes when he saw a creature he - thought - destroyed before. "You.." "Yeah, it's me, Shredhead!" Raph spat out while backflipping away.

However, their conversation was interrupted with Donnie and April hitting the giant monster. Raph growled, about to launch again, when a sudden groan took his attention. He glanced at the direction, immediately sprinting to the sound. "Leo! Are you alright buddy?" Raph looked carefully at Leo again, taking in the damage that has caused him.

"Just..Just a crack in my shell, nothing serious." "That does NOT look like 'nothing serious'!"

Raph looked at the chipped pieces on the ground, seeming to be chips of shell. He cursed under his breath, helping Leo up. "Can you still fight?" Raph asked in concern. Leo bounced his head while picking his katanas up from the ground. "I will fight. No matter what it costs. He once took someone I loved, but he won't do that again." Leo's creepy, raspy and confident tone of voice sent shivers down Raph's spine, but his face seemed to rush blood all over.

Leo gave a quick peck on Raph's cheek. Raph blushed harder, but Leo had no time to react when he sprinted towards the war. Raph shook his thoughts away, then ran into the battle too.

Minutes passed - without anyone hurting at least. That was until rage took the best of mutated Shredder. He shrieked into the sky while running towards Mikey like a rhinoceros. Fear and dread found his way in the little one's body that caused him not to react. He stood still, completely paralyzed. "MIKEY!" A shout could be heard as Donnie threw himself on Mikey to push him away. But unluckily, on his way to push him away - which he did successfully - his leg was later than his actions as it was hit by Shredder's sharp blade.

Blood splattered everywhere. A pale green, big and covered in blood leg was thrown away on the other side of the building, followed by a painful and bloody shriek. Donnie fell on the ground, wincing in pain while tears of grief gathered in his eyes. He was rolling on the ground, holding the remaining of his cut off leg. "DONNIE!" Several cries were heard. "MY SON!" Splinter hollered while sprinting to his side, holding the injured turtle in his embrace. "D-Dad..it hurts." The whimper of despair was heard from Donnie. Blood was now all over the area beneath him.

On the other side, was a furious Casey gripping his baseball bat. 'You hurt my friend..you'll get hurt back!' He thought, grinding his teeth together.
"Goongala!" He yelled while throwing himself on Shredder, irritating him. "Get off me, you brat!" But Casey didn't listen, like he would ever. Casey lifted his hand up, turning on his electrical energy through his gloves, connecting it to the monster.

A exclamation was heard from the giant mutant. This took Casey off guard, causing Shredder to throw him off. However, he wasn't aiming where he was throwing the human. And therefore, he was thrown to a stack of electronic signs. This, however, caused a massive chaos of light and electricity. Was there any signs of a living life?

"CASEY NO!" April rushed to the burnt body on the ground. She quickly checked for a pulse, a sign of living. But there was none, and this made her panic more. "No..no no no no! Casey!" Tears flowed on her cheeks as she whimpered. Everyone, who on the other hand were watching the scene, widened their eyes. "You IMPOSTER!" Her scream made the whole building shudder. She flew her psychic powers towards the giant, but they made him go only a tad away - since he was huge.

Leo, on the other hand, was shaking in shock. This was exactly how his nightmare went. He gulped while standing in a fighting stance steadily. He must not fear, he must not retreat.
"Tch. Deserved it.." The raspy voice of Shredder came out. He turned around and howled again. This time, he set his target in the genius, again. No one could predict it this time either.

He dashed towards the poor Donnie, hitting him with his head. Donnie was sent flying towards the edge of the building, about to fall off. If Raph wasn't fast enough to act, Donnie would've fall off.

Raph darted towards Donnie, catching his free arm. However, from the uneasiness of how Donnie was in that state, Raph himself was dangling from the edge of the building. Holding his little brother in one hand, and gripping to the edge of the rooftop in other hand, he panted and grumbled. "Hold on Don!"
