The Beast Within

Chapter 1: The Omega

Deep in a forest lies civilization, but not just any ordinary civilians live there. For you see, you'll find these people might have sharper teeth than any ordinary man or you might just be able to see people perform what shouldn't be possible in the natural world. But you see, your no longer in the natural world in these woods, you have enter a world of unkown, a place of mystery, a place unatural, some might say it's Supernatural. Within these woods there are plenty of unordinary creatures, but there are are only three you need to worry about. First are the Werewolves, you read them in books and see them in movies but I'll tell you the truth about these hairy creatures, they're are two types of were wolves, The Mutts and The Purebloods. To put it simply Purebloods are people who were born with the blood of the beast who have full control over there powers and transformations, while Mutts are people who were bitten by a werewolf who a cursed to turn every full moon with lost sense of control and morals. Pureblood werewolves usually form a pack with eachother. We will be focusing on one certain pack called Pack Haven where very powerful and wise werewolves reside at. Pack Haven is a small little village smack in the middle of the forest. Now onto the vampires, not much to discuss really, vampires are well vampires they can't come out in the sun and they drink blood to survive. Also if you are bitten you become one of them. The vampires we'll be talking about are in a village called Mythspire where they reside in a castle. Last but not least are the witches, they are tricky creatures because like most humans they are vey unpredictable. Some witches form a pack some, go rogue and live life on their own terms. But make no mistake, even a single witch can be dangerous to deal with. And this single we'll be looking at name is Rae. Now I must tell you a story of a werewolf, to be precise an Omega name Xylo. It was like any ordinary day at Pack Haven for Xylo, Harvesting carrots for his home and establishment, of course not much people bought them because everbody else wasn't vegan like xylo. Sometimes he tries to convince Mario, his Alpha, to allow him to wear his hat but he never budges. Sometimes he talks to Jackson who is a vampire who comes to Pack Haven every now and then. Since there was peace between Pack Haven and Mythspire it's been smooth sailing for the past three years for everyone. But soon everything will change for everyone for better or worse.

*Xylo's POV*
I was just out at my carrot farm harvesting as much as I can so I can make a carrot cake for the evening when Alpha came up to me.

Xylo: "Hey Alpha whats up"
Mario: "Xylo I would like to speak with you in private"

The way that Mario said it made me feel uneasy a bit, like a mixture of sorrow, but you can also sense the seriousness in his voice. So I did as he asked and followed him to his cabin so we could speak in private. Not gonna lie I'm very nervous about what he has to say to me. I pray to the moon goddess and the ancestors that he hasn't found out that I wore his hat while he slept a week a go.

Mario: "Xylo I have something to tell you and I ask of you please don't repeat what I speak of to you wtih the other members of this pack"
I can once again sense the worry in his voice. I never seen alpha this scared before so I only nodded.

Mario: "I have spoken with the ancestors.... there something that you need to know about.... a secret that has been witheld from us all, but especially from you" he said hesitantly
Xylo: "Alpha... you're starting to scare me what have they told you Mario" I said worriedly

Alpha looked up from looking longingly into the ground, and what he said next was something that I wasn't prepare for.

Mario: "Xylo.... you are a werewolf.... but you are something else as well" he said in a sorrowful tone.
Xylo: "Alpha... what do you mean I'm also something else.... what am I if I'm not only a wolf" I said in a terrified tone

Mario once again stared into the ground only to slowly look up to Xylo's gaze. Only silence filled the room for a minute or to until Alpha has given the answer I have asked for.

Mario: "....Demon... you're part demon Xylo"

There was once agian silence, but instead of hesitation it was out of shock. I couldn't believe what I have heard, I didn't want to believe what I have heard.
Xylo: "...Mario please tell me that I misheard what you said... or tell me this is a joke... something.... please" My voice started to tremble from fear and shock.
Mario: "I'm sorry Xylo... but what you heard was the truth, the ancestors had bestowed this knowledge to me and now I to you"
Xylo: "what should I do" I asked in a very sorrowful tone. At this point I was scared to the point where I may cry.
Mario: "The ancestors have already told me what you need to do.... you need to go south... and visit your friend Rae" he said in a hesitant and aggrivated tone.
Xylo: "I don't understand Alpha... why do I need to seek out Rae"
Mario: "Because Xylo... the ancestors also told me that..." he was scared. I can tell by the tone in his voice and they way he tried to avoid my gaze.

I walked up to Alpha and as much as I don't want to know, I have to. I put my right hand on his left shoulder and looked at him intently then asked the big question.

Xylo: "Mario... what did the ancestors tell you"

There was an uncomfortable silence until he spoke again.

Mario: "They told me your transformation will soon start"
Xylo: "What do you mean" I asked in a confused demeanor
Mario: "I mean that soon you will become something that is more than a werewolf.... don't ask me into what 'cause even our ancestors hace no clue of what will become of you once it is complete"

I was so confused and scared out of my mind at the moment. thousands of thought ran through my head. Until Alpha spoke again.

Mario: " I am sending you to Rae because she has expierence in dealing with dark magic and such.... I'm hoping that if she is able to stop or at least help you contain control over your soon new form"
Xylo: "....How long do I have before I.... you know"
Mario: "I'm not sure... the ancestors said it could be from now to months.... what is for certain is that you have less than a year before it's complete"

Right now I'm lost in thought, I was basically told that I will become an unkown monster in less than a year. Hell I could become one at any second. I just stood there in thought until I finally came to my senses.

Xylo: "When should I leave" I said dreadfully
Mario: "Now.... The longer you stay here... the less time you have at saving yourself from whats to come" he said in an almost apologetic way
Xylo: "okay, I.. I... I better start packing then" I said as I felt tears in my eyes trying to break through
Mario: " Hey Xylo remember this isn't goodbye forever, once you get this all sorted out I will personally welcome you back to Pack Haven with open arms okay"

Mario reached out his hand to shake mine, but I was in such an emmotinal state I just hugged him. At first he stiffened but he soon relaxed and hugged back.

Mario: "Until we meet agian Xylo"
Xylo: "And hopefully soon...." I pulled and away and slowly walked out the door.

After I got all of my things packed for my trip to the withch tower I said goodbye to everyone. Especially to Hannah, she seemed like she would miss me the most out of everyone. But now I have embarked on a journey to Rae's home and pray to the ancestors that she can help me.
