Chapter 9

its been a few months since that day. me and Tae finally got married, it was a small family, with the boys and out children. this child is due in a month and to be completely honest with you, I'm terrified!

this is all i think about while Charlie's at school and Felix is at the library studying so he can get a GED. I'm so proud of our children, i don't know what I'd do without them

i look at the clock and realize its lunch time. i try and get up off the couch, with much struggle. when i finally stood i felt something wet on the floor under my feet. i look down and realize my pants legs are wet at well

welp here we go.

i slowly move over to my phone, once i grab it i got this extreme pain in my entire lower body, it was a throbbing pain mixed with a stabbing pain, which made me drop my phone. it landed on the couch so i leaned over and took the phone, i hit the on/off button but it didn't turn on, Crap!

sadly we don't have a land line in the house, and we don't have neighbors, the lots next to us are vacant.. Charlie wont be home for another 2 hours and Tae wont be home for 3. and i don't know when Felix will get home, he's normally the last one to come home.

just as i was thinking i got another one of those pains, but this time it hurt so bad i had to sit down. i screamed in pain. i had a few more of the pains before i hear the front door open, thank god!!

"I'm in here!!" i said out of breath. soon i saw a face i knew, a face i didn't think I'd see this early in the day

"Felix" i breathed out happily, then another pain followed by another pained scream. "crap mom! why didn't you call anyone?!" he almost yelled while fumbling for his phone in his back pack pocket.

i looked at my shattered phone on the couch beside me and he let out a silent 'oh' before dialing 911. "yes hello! my mother is in labor! I'm the only one home and i don't know how to deliver a baby" Felix spoke into the phone with pure panic

"don't worry, you shouldn't have to, i have the paramedics 2 minutes out" i heard the woman on the other line say. "Felix, i don't know if i can last that long-" i cut myself off with a loud and pained scream.

Felix sat there listening to the women on the other line, he looked like he was mentally preparing himself for what was about to go down. he asked the woman to repeat everything again as he found towels, and some warm water.

then he put the woman on speaker phone just as i let out another loud and painful scream "Ma'am, have you had any children before?" the lady asked and i was so dizzy from the pain i felt like i might pass out. "y-yes" i stutter out with much effort 

"okay, are you okay Ma'am? you sound weak" she said and i nodded towards Felix not having the energy to speak. "she says she is, and she looks really pale, what's happening?" he asked, panic setting in a lot more.

"i have an idea what might be going on, but I'm not a professional. the paramedics should be coming through that door any second!" she said trying to look at the bright side.

i lay my head on the back of the couch, just as the front door opens my vision goes black

i woke up in the hospital and my first thought was to place my hands on my stomach, but to my surprise there was no bump, just a bit of fat..

i roll onto my side with much pain to see Tae and Felix. "what happened?" i asked, scaring them with the fact that i was awake. they looked a bit sad which scared me more then i already am.

"the baby was putting pressure on your spine and cutting off the air to your brain that's why you passed out" Felix spoke "and what about Adam?" i ask, that's what we decided to name the child.

"he's struggling to breath himself, there working on him now-" Tae was cut off when the door opened to reveal the doctor, i roll over so I'm laying on my back, kinda facing the woman in question

"oh you're awake!" he said with a smile, which made me a bit more hopeful.

he walked to the foot of my bed. he took a pen out of his pocket and brought it too my foot. "close your eyes and let me know if you feel anything" he said with a comforting soft smile. i nodded and did as i was told. i was confused when he told me to open my eyes again not long after closing them

"did you feel any of that?" he asked and i gave him a confused look. "not to be rude, but if you want me to feel something you gotta touch me first" i said with a shy smile, he looked like he got lost in thought as he brought my chart up to his face

"Y/n he did touch you.. and he even applied some pressure" Tae said with a look of pure pain and sadness

i know what that means, you don't have to be a genius to connect the dots, i might not be able to walk again... a tear rolls down my face at that thought. Tae soon stands to wipe the tear just to wrap and arm around me and to hold my hand with his other one 

"it's going to be okay. I'm right here the whole way" he said as he kissed my temple and i nodded with a sniffle

we looked back at the doctor and waited for him to say the words the 3 of us don't want to hear
