Entry #78

They took Bo away. I'm barely able to keep my eyes open. I don't know if Bo was awake when they... I'm not entirely sure what they did, but I feel drained, like I've been awake for three weeks straight. I think they stole my quintessence. I don't know how they did it, they had us blindfolded. But I know it was with a person, not a machine. I'm not sure how I know, but I do.

If these new Galra can harvest quintessence right from living organisms, and animal organisms at that, then this is a more dire situation than we originally thought. This Haggar has immediate access to theoretically unlimited quintessence. This universe is not properly equipped with the resistance for that level of threat. We've got to tell the Garrison. Admiral Shiro could be able to tell everyone, and we could prepare to fight back!

I don't know how I could get the information out, though. I'm still barely awake, and a prisoner on a Galra cruiser. Bo's been summoned. That cannot be good. Hopefully they've sent help...

Holy Quiznak. I'm being taken to the people in charge here. They were called something, but I'm too terrified to remember. What could they want with me? Did I do something? I don't think I've been here long enough to do anything, did they make something up? What do they want with me??

I-- HOLY QUIZNAK. THERE'S A HOLE IN THE WALL FILLED BY THE YELLOW LION!! This is crazy! The Galra are going crazy! Everybodi-- AND NOW THERE'S A GIANT BLUE LAZOR!! THIS IS THE CRAZIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!! I'm being rescued by Voltron!!!!! Wait... I'm a Paladin of voltron! This is so much more intense than I realized!

A figure is running towards me. Is that Adrian? It's Adrian! He's wearing the red armor and bearing a red ax. His sheild saves him from the shots of guarding sentries.

"Come on, we're getting you out of here!!" Well, I'm all for that! But I didn't get here alone! I can't just ditch Hallie, especially not like this!

"But Hallie! She's still in a cell!" He grunts from the effort of protecting us from lasers, then looks at me, exasperated.

"We didn't come here prepared for an entire prison breakout! We're leaving." He starts to pull me towards the opening, the lions mouth now full with Micah and some Garrison soldiers defending the lion's interior. I stomp my foot, pushing against his grip. My adrenaline is pulsing hard, I don't even remember him grabbing my arm.

"I can't leave without her! We're Paladins of Voltron now, and not just that, but Hallie's my friend! I'm getting her. Are you coming with me?" He visibly sighs.

"I don't really have a choice." Then to the others through a comm, he says: "Me and Bo have to go get Hallie. We'll go as quickly as possible, but then we need immediate pickup." Through the havoc of it all, we rush back to the cells. When we get to my own, I stop. The locks... I don't have a way to open them! Sentries corner us, cutting off the exits.

"Sto--" Cut off by an ax to the chest. Adrian grabs the sentry's hand and presses it to the scanner.

"Hallie?" I rush in the room. She's on the floor, unconscious in the middle. We were the only ones in here. Jumping her on my back, we start to head back to the lion. Adrian tries to fend off any sentries in our way, but they're gaining on us. We won't be able to hold them off! I grab one of the fallen's guns and attempt to help, but it's no good.

Another boom shakes the whole ship and for a moment, everything is quiet. It's like slow motion. Like every inanimate object is waiting for something, but every animate being is clueless.

Metal jaws close around us. My squeal was staunched by the crashes of iron all around us. Adrian grabs my arm and pulls me towards the cockpit. When we reach the inside, Adrian is clearly shaken. I bet he was looking for yellow screens, but we are met with a purple and black interior. The pilot doesn't move to greet us. They're clearly busy maneuvering us to safety.

I grab onto Hallie and the pilot's seat to keep us on the ground. I hear them yelling to what has to be the others through a comm link that they've got us. The entire group starts retreating. It's a fast thing, much faster than you'd think.

Except the Galra follow us.

"Uh, GUYS??" Adrian is yelling at the pilot, who's yelling back.

"We've just got to get through that wormhole the Castle's created! Everybody hold on, it's gonna be tight!" The castle is already halfway through the wormhole. The black lion looks to be too far away to make it! But I trust this pilot. I know that whatever happens, we can figure it out. It's what Paladins do!

And the Paladin is right. It is narrow, and we do need to hold on tight, going as fast as we were, but we made it. Our relieved sighs echo in unison around the cab, each of us slouching with relief. We're safe.
