Becas POV:
The last bell just rang signaling the end of the school day. Meaning my secret is about to be discovered and I'll be dragged to the preppy kids. Mr. Franklin was not helping my case ether. He just kept on hinting at it but luckily this Chloe Beale preppy is dumb. "Hey Beca! Ready to head over to you place?" The redhead said with almost to much energy.
"Yeah sure whatever." I said. I decided that the best way to stay safe is to be distant. Let's hope it works.
"Great! Let's go" Chloe said linking arms with mine as we walk definitely earning a few stares. "By the way what part of town do you live in?"
"I live in a part." No way am I telling you before I have to. Nice try Beale.
Once we drive into one of the most expensive neighborhoods and I could tell Chloe was confused. "What are we doing in Brees neighborhood?"Chloe questioned.
I forgot Aubrey Posen lived on my street. Well I guess I have to explain myself. " you see I-" just like that I was cut off.
"I am not robing any house. So we can turn around now thanks." Chloe said. Looks like I'm doing this the sarcastic way.
"Why would I do that when I'm almost home." I said pulling into the driveway. I hoped out the car and Chloe just sat there stunned. "You coming Beale?"
"Beca who's house is this?"
"Mine." I said rather plainly.
"This is the most expensive house in the neighborhood, you can't afford to live here."
"Actually I can." I said pulling out my house key unlocking the door and just striding in. "Hey dad I'm home and I have a friend!" I yelled.
For once my dad actually came out of his office to greet me -on the phone but still- and meet Chloe. As soon as he saw who my "friend" was he immediately hung up his phone. "Is that someone like you unlike those barbaric people you choose to normally hang out with?" My dad asked.
Chloe's POV;
Everything makes so much more sense now. Why Beca respected the principal so much. Why she was wearing nicer clothes compared to the other rebels. I mean for heaven sakes her leather jacket is Gucci!
"Those 'barbaric people' are my friends." Beca quickly defends them.
"No they aren't. But anyway introduce me to you friend." Who I'm assuming to be Becas father said.
"Dad this is Chloe, Chloe this is dad." Beca said rather plainly.
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Mitchell." I said in my happiest voice.
"Please call me Phil." He returned almost as happy.
"So umm Chloe's gonna spend the night if that's okay." Beca said.
"Of course she can!" Becas dad who I now know is Phil. "That fact that she is not a barbaric person I'm so fond of her."
"Okay. Bye dad we're going to be in my room." Beca said basically pushing me away from her father and up the stairs.
Becas POV:
My father is such a bitch. I had to get Chloe upstairs before I punched him in the face. So now we are sitting in my room.
"So why don't you ever hang out with the rich kids?" Chloe asked "I mean your really pretty and definitely rich enough. You could even be at the top."
"That's exactly why I'm not." I said. "Do you remember that one girl Rebeca from middle school who would always wore dresses and bright colors?"
"Yeah how could I not. She was the most popular kid and was expected to go into high school and be the leader." Chloe said "To bad she moved."
"Has it ever occurred to you that Rebeca didn't actually move away?" I ask.
"No. She disappeared in eighth grade. What are we supposed to think?"
"So no one ever thought that that one scrappy little nobody that showed up in the eight grade the goes by Beca would be her?"
"Oh my god. Your Rebeca. Come back to our side and you can take your rightful place." Chloe said hopefully.
"No. That's part of the reason I left." I said.
"So what's the whole reason then? Unless you don't want to tell me that's fine!"
"My mom died the summer before eighth grade. It really changed me I stopped smiling and wearing bright colors." I said. "It also really affected my dad. He became an alcoholic and a workaholic." I said.
"What do you mean by that?"
"During the day he works none stop but as soon as he gets off he starts drinking."
"Do you mind if I ask what he's like when he's drunk?"
"It depends on how sad he is that day. If he's not super sad he's a sleep drunk. But if the pain is to much for him he takes his anger and sadness out on me."
     "Becs you don't mean..."
"Yeah he gets violent sometimes. It's only happened once or twice. But even that's still scaring." I said. "Anyway what's the plan for joining the two side together?"
"Theirs always that on table where no sits because it's between the two groups right?"
"Yeah. I'm not following though. What does that have to do with anything?"
"It's almost like a no mans land. We can sit their at lunch tomorrow." Chloe said.
"I feel like it's not enough. What something you preppys wear nowadays?"
"We often wear dresses with heals." I said. "But what does that have to do with anything?"
I stood up and went to my closest and changed into a deep purple dress and but on some high tops and my favorite leather jacket that I wore earlier today. "So would you say a dress like this?" I ask Chloe.
"Yep!" Chloe said. "But why are you wearing one? I don't really follow."
"This is what I'm wearing to school tomorrow. And I have a leather jacket you can borrow along with a brightly colored dress." I said.
     "Okay and?"
"If we're sitting in no mans land tomorrow then we are going to dress like it." I said with certainty.
"So almost like a third group. We're not quite rebels and we aren't quite rich. We're like neutrals."
"Exactly." I said agreeing with her. "So are you down?"
"Let's do it. Now, we will watch movies like in a normal sleepover." Chloe said.
With that I grabbed my computer and we started watching random shows. But considering I don't really like movies I fell asleep on Chloe's shoulder. And when I woke up and Chloe was spooning me. This girl is gonna be the death of me I swear.
