Patience was never your speciality, even in the normal world. In the zombie apocalypse you sure didn't favor it now either. "Minho please hurry up I'm getting anxious." A sharp blade twirled in your fingers as you watched Minho pick the lock to a front door. Screw rich people for having so many locks.

"See anything going on?" Minho questioned still taking his sweet precious time to unlock the door to the huge house you're trying to find solace in.

"Just like 5 infected down the lawn shambling towards us, everything just peachy you slow ass." You hissed taking another nervous glance at the dead who stumbled and groaned towards you two. They were a good distance down the huge yard but if Minho didn't hurry up soon you two would be in trouble. An infected in a dirty yellow sundress with a missing arm looked particularly hungry.

Minho grumbled a quiet profanity, giggling the lock to the door before speaking. "Aaaannnd got it!" He cheered as the front door swung open.

You left out an annoyed huff pushing past Minho so you could get far away from Mrs. Sundress lady. "Could you be anymore loud?" You tripped on the mat as you entered the house earning a snicker from Minho.

"Idiot." He laughed quickly, closing and locking the door back shut. You somehow managed to end up with this man as your key to survival.

After a short while of glaring and marveling at the large house you stood in you spoke. "Do you think anything is actually left here?" The smell of death wasn't prevalent in the house which most likely meant the house owners had ditched the place before things got too bad.

"Most likely yes and if not food I'm sure there's some stuff we can still play around with." Minho said, already heading towards the kitchen.

"To the kitchen we go I guess." You muttered allowing Minho to drag you along. Not like Minho had given you much of a choice anyways. Once you two entered the kitchen you went to the fridge. The door opened with a pop and then out poured the stench of months worth of rotten vegetables, meat, and organic yogurt.

"Gosh were these people healthy freaks or something? I regret opening this so much." You gagged slamming the door back shut.

Minho rolled his eyes at your stupidity but gasped when he swung open a large cabinet. "Okay the fridge was a bust but the cabinet...i haven't seen this much food since we started living in this hell hole." You made your way over to Minho and grinned at the stocked cabinet.

"We can eat off of this for weeks!" The cabinet was filled with boxes of cereal, protein bars, cans of soup, and boxed pasta that would last a long time.

"Let's pack some of it up and scan out a room to sleep in." Minho began shoving food from the pantry into his backpack and you did the same.

An idea popped into your head as you shoved the last of a box of protein bars into your bag. "I call the master bedroom!" You opened a bag of Captain Crunch, munching on the sweet cereal happily. It had been a while since you had anything to eat other than old granola bars and stale dried ramen.

Minho groaned but then shook his head. "You're not getting away from me that easy, we're sleeping together."

"Want to sleep with me that bad?" You questioned.

Taking a glance at the cereal in your hand, you stuffed it into Minho's open mouth that was ready to retort something vile back. "Stuff it, Minho."

Minho sputtered, choking on the stale cereal, "Yourf hanthd are dirthy!" You ruefully smiled as he gave you side eye, chewing down the cereal.

"Let's check out upstairs, hopefully there's no nasty surprises." It was your turn to take the lead as you pulled back out your switchblade. The house still needed to be searched no matter how large or small it is. Minho followed behind you slowly as you both headed up the wooden staircase still simmering from you shoving cereal in his mouth. The house was dead silent aside from your footsteps, you had always hated the void of silence. One by one you two opened doors in the house checking them for anything out of place, bodies, or blood. Luckily you had found none.

"Okay, I think we're clear. I'm gonna head back to that weird parlor looking room." Minho left you alone in the dark hall so you entered the last room in the hall that you had just checked. It was the master bedroom.

The inside of the room was a clean pristine white, a huge bed in the center of the room and a large vanity with accessories. "...Wow." You muttered before setting down your things on the floor. You felt like you were intruding whoever used to live here's space but they were probably dead or they would have come back a long time ago. You absentmindedly studied the room until you ended up at the closet and got an idea.

5 minutes later...

"This is what I left you alone for?" Minho snickered at your silk covered body. You had found a white silk night outfit and decided if it was anytime to play around it would be tonight.

Apparently Minho had thought the same thing. He was dressed up in a black suit that probably belonged to someone his age. "I can say the same to you." If you two happened to have to leave this house at any moment you would sure be a sight to see running down the road from infected.

"Care to join me for dinner?" Minho decided to ignore your staring and pulled out two cans of soup from his bag. You chuckled grabbing your bag of Captain Crunch and heading outside with him on the balcony.

"I can't believe we're sitting here in silk and suits while we could be getting eaten right now." Minho said after a few moments, glancing out into the quiet distance. It was pretty chilly outside but you had been in worse conditions.

"Sounds like we should be happy for once. I could get used to this."

"What, stuffing your face with stale Captain Crunch and Vegetable Beef Stew while being dressed in a probably dead person's clothes?" Minho said scrunching his nose with a teasing laugh.

A soft chuckle fell from your features that had softened ever so slightly, glancing at Minho. "No just relaxing for once. Not always having to be on the run for my life." It had been 5 months since the infection had taken over the world. The first month was horrible, havoc wreaking no matter where you went but then two things changed. The first being the silence. The awful silence of the world settling around you, dead beginning to outnumber the living. You had survived alone in that painful silence until the second change arrived in your life.

Minho.

When he found you ready to give up, alone in a rotted building with no food or water he had given you hope again. That silence you felt was still there, but you had someone else there to endure it with you and he had made you all the more stronger. Minho has been by your side even since.

Minho was never one for being optimistic though his pessimism had saved you well over a few times. "We'll never be safe in this world as long as the infected walk around." Minho said with a small sigh. He hung his arm casually around your shoulder like you had been friends your whole life. You admired how he could be so comforting even during the end of the world. He's one amazing person in the hundreds of bad people who could have found you.

"True, but if you're with me I think I'll be content until the end. Don't punch me for being cliche but you're my partner in crime." You said resting your head lightly on his shoulder. The corners of Minho's mouth turned upwards as he lightly tapped your shoulder anyways. The sun had fallen just below the tree line in the distance, beginning to drown you two in darkness. Darkness meant it was time to go inside, the infected rule the night. One of the infected down on the lawn let out a low as if it could sense your thoughts. It's presence still didn't matter to either of you at the moment though.

"It's just me and you against the world y/n. I'll always be with you, until the end."
