You want to start off a good conversation? Talk about mythical creatures. Or whatever mystic stuff your heart desires whether you're into Harry Potter or Percy Jackson. That usually works, unless the person is completely uninterested in you, but what if you lived right next door to the mythical creatures you were told stories about? What if magic was an old friend of yours but you didn't know?

That was your life.

You lived in a place called the Sunshine District. The normal side of town is where you lived, with the most average people to existence. The other half is where all the freaky stuff goes down. The Mystic District. The normals like you know not to get caught up in the Mythicals riff-raff in Mystic District. Your parents, even your pretentious friends, told you to stay away from the creatures of the night who ruled the other half of the city. You never listened.

You had convinced your friends to go out to one of the best bars the Mystic District had to offer. Friendly to humans and filled with higher class mythicals who wouldn't hurt a mere human in spite of whatever image they had to keep up. A perfect combination for someone like you looking for a fun time out. You had been at a table, enjoying the thrill of the evening with a drink in hand while your two friends talked. You have been in your own world.

"Y/n why did we have to come here? We could have gone out to that nice club downtown!" Your friend Sunhi grumbled, taking a small sip of her drink. She believed everyone on this side of town was out to get her, or "inject my drink rat poisoning" as she said an hour before.

"Yeah and I don't like the way that guy has been staring at us. It's like the hair on my arms has been raised the whole night." Mina, your equally annoyed friend gestured to a guy with styled black hair who had been giving you the side eye the whole night.

"You guys can leave if you want, I can find my way home." You ignored their pleas and glanced back at the guy who caught your eye. He only met your gaze with an intensity that made your stomach churn.

"Just...go. I'll be fine." You said again but the girls had already begun to pack up their bags and leave the booth.

"Be safe, we'll see you around?" Mina gave you an unsure smile and left the bar with Sunhi before more could be said. So much for the "girl code". Downing the rest of your drink, you stood up from your table to get another but found yourself intercepted by the guy. He blocked your path and gestured back to the table you just sat at

"Didn't think I would see a day where a human would willingly be left alone in this part of town." He began with a smile that would have made anyone interested in him.

"I'm here a lot." You said dismissively. You probably should have been alarmed but you never were around the mythical. You always felt like something apart of you was just missing. You were sure that he was...something but you couldn't pinpoint what.

"Surely haven't seen you around," He took the seat next to you and folded his hands neatly over each other on top of the table. "I'm Chris by the way."

"Pleasure meeting you Chris, but I think it's time I make my way home." You humored him a small laugh and he did so in return, but it was filled with no emotion.

"You don't want to know who I am y/n? What we can do?" A smirk painted his pink tinted lips.his tongue shot out for a brief moment and just barely his growing fangs began to show.

"Who's 'we'? and human shouldn't be on this side of town right?" You sighed, crossing your arms with impatience filling your bones.

"I have some news for you sweetheart, but you're not human. I suppose you've known that deep down all along though right?" Your eyes flew up to his in an instant and a wave of realization hit you. His eyes had turned a light silver, fangs becoming more prominent and poking into the flesh of his lips.

"Leave me alone, you don't know what you're talking about." You didn't want to believe you belonged a part of the group your parents warned you to stay away from. With a speed you didn't know you possessed you stood up from the table but Chris was quick to catch your arm.

"Let me go." A deep growl emitted from your throat that left both you and Chris shocked. He let you go but kept his eyes trained on yours. Your senses began to cloud your thoughts all at once and suddenly the bar began to feel more alive. You could smell the bottle of rum across the room on a top shelf clearly, the tap of a girl's cheap acrylics on a table two seats away from you, Chris's heartbeat that was moving the same rhythmic beat as yours.

Despite your dizziness you kept your calm composure. "Am I...am I a werewolf like you?" You asked the question you didn't want him to confirm but fell back into your seat at his next words.

"Yes you are. You're the next alpha of our Clan." Chris sighed, seemingly not wanting to believe someone like you held so much unknown power.

"Alpha?" You repeated to yourself. How could you be the next leader of an unknown wolf clan?  The news he had told you washed over you like an ice cold bucket of water that left you on edge.

"I know it's a lot to take in, but we must get going. We have a lot to talk about y/n." Chan reached for your hand across the table and smiled genuinely for the first time. "The clans are going to want to meet our cute new leader sooner or later. We've been searching for you for a long time, after all."
