"You think they're going to like this?" Changbin held up a red velvet box that contained sparkling silver ring adorned with your initials. It was your birthday, the first time you would spend your birthday together as a couple. Changbin had managed to get the boys together to throw a surprise party for you. Your living room had been decorated with your favorite colors.

"Why wouldn't she/he? I think it's perfect." Chan responded to Changbin reassuring him that everything would go according to plan.

"Hopefully this won't be too overwhelming." Changbin mumbled to himself after sitting down in a chair at the party table. It was pretty late so Changbin figured the was no need to put out much food except for chips since you would probably be tired. He wanted it to be something cool and to make you happy.

"Stop worrying we have about an hour before the fun will even begin." Jisung patted his shoulder stealing his own chip from bowl in front of him. Changbin nodded but was still nervous about how you would react. He hoped you would liked the ring he had bought for you because it cost an awful lot of money too.

"Guys it's time! Get in your places."  Changbin had been waiting for you by the window while the others sat in the darkness. Changbin didn't want to alert you of his press on your house so everyone had been playing silently on their phones. A scurry if movement started around the room, figures darting in the darkness to hide.

"Wait someone else is here too..."Seungmin who had hid by the front window peeked out gasping.

"It's probably just a friend," Changbin brushes off his comment, feeling joyful at the thought of seeing you. "We can't back out now." Changbin smiled in the darkness to himself excitedly, ready to see your shocked expression. The boys waited in an anticipating silence while you unlocked the front door.

When you stepped inside you could instantly feel something was off. "Let's go back to your room..." Your fling of the night whispered in your ear while you searched for the living room lights in the darkness. You had almost reached them when the lights flicked on themself and you froze at the sight in front of you.

"Surprise!" A chorus of loud shouts and cheers rang in your ears scaring both you and your new friend. The shouts and smiles quickly faded when they realized what was going on. All the color had drained from Changbin's face. His skin had blanched white at the sight of holding someone else's hand. A hand that should have been his.

"C-Changbin? What are you doing here?" You stammered, taking in the 9 pairs of eyes staring at you shocked. You let go of your new lovers hand immediately taken back. You didn't expect to see Changbin at your house at all, not that it made your actions anymore right either.

"The better question is what are YOU doing?" Changbin took a small step back like someone had just shoved him.

"Let's not do this in front of everyone." You pleaded trying to avoid the others scrutinizing gazes.

"Why it doesn't matter now? They've all seen that you're a cheater." Changbin spat out dejected. You could visibly see the pain and betrayal etched into his features.

"I'm gonna just go..." The guy who was still standing next to you like a headless chicken said drawing all attention to him.

Wrong move.

"Uh that would be preferred." Hyunjin didn't refrain from hiding his scowl at the guy who avoided all eye contact while he left the house. The silence was deafening as the other boys shared worried glances.

"Guys, go outside. We need to talk alone." Changbin stared at the floor with his head down. He had begun to turn red after his initial shock. The others understood, quickly filing out of the house leaving you and Changbin alone in the living room. While the scene around you was bright and happy, Changbin felt the complete opposite. He wanted to rip all of the decorations, shout, and cry all at the same time but it wouldn't solve anything. "I don't know what to say." Changbin said after a moment finally looking up from the floor.

"I can explain." You had never felt so ashamed. You felt guilty for doing this to Changbin. He wasn't convinced you could justify cheating on him. Cheating wasn't justifiable at all.

"Explaining isn't going to fix anything but okay." The edge in his voice couldn't be missed.

"I...I missed you. You're always gone, working! What was I supposed to do when you told me last minute you weren't going to be here for my birthday?" You let out your own quiet cry remembering all the times you had waited for him to come home but he was busy. While you never meant to go as far as cheating you had feelings too. A brief moment of guilt flashed through Changbin's eyes. You both suffered because of Changbin's lifestyle but his other emotions at the moment overrid his guilt.

"Maybe not go out and find a guy to replace me with? As you can see I'm here for your birthday. I even threw you a whole party!" Changbin shook his head in disbelief. He couldn't believe he had just thrown a party for you and bought a expensive gift only to be met with this.

"I know sorry won't fix this...But I hope you can forgive me." You knew your words couldn't turn around this situation. You already regretted your night out so much.

"It won't and I don't know if I can forgive you. How am I supposed to know you haven't done this before?" Changbin whispered the last part, mind swirling with a million questions. What if this wasn't a one time thing? What if you had brung someone else to sleep in his bed once before?

"I would never-" you started to respond but Changbin was quick to cut you off.

"Don't say that because you would. You would and you were going to." His words were sharp, you could hear the sadness that was slowly starting to overtake him.

"We're taking a break. I'm gonna stay with the boys for while." Changbin shoved his hand roughly into his pants pocket. His mind was all over the place and he knew soon he wouldn't be thinking rationally. He needed to get away from you.

"That isn't necessary." You felt tears pool into your eyes at his words. A break might as well mean break up, even though it's what you deserved.

"I need to be away from you okay? Do whatever you want now." Changbin's dismissal of you hurt. You watched as he took several strides towards you pulling something out of his pocket.

"I hope you had a great day, Happy Birthday y/n." Changbin shoved the small velvet box into your hand swerving around your still figure. His eyesight became blurred with tears and he ran into a table as he headed for the front door. The white vase on the table wobbled and hit the hardwood floor with shrill cracking sound shattering the silence.

"Everything okay?" Chan popped his head through the front door making sure the situation hadn't escalated into something dangerous. Changbin nodded stopping for a moment to decide if he should clean up the vase.

"Just go I'll clean it." You waved him away staring at the broken flower vase sniffling. It was the least you could do. Changbin made it outside and was instantly gathered into a hug by Chan who was waiting for him. Changbin's arms hung limply at his sides even though he appreciated their support.

"I'm so sorry Changbin." The boys all tried to console him while he tried to wipe away his tears. He was new to being in a relationship, he never knew his first serious one would end like this. He couldn't help but think maybe it's better not to love.
