Day by day
I wish this pain away
Day by day
I hope to be me one day
Been years since I spoke up
Not wanting to hurt others
Just want to understand
I didn't mean to be harsh
I just want to be honest
I try to do the right thing
I try to do things right
I am left with disappointment
I am left with a sinking feeling
I want to know what I should do
No answer from others
The answer is within me
But I don't know anymore
Ambition is in famine
Determination is abundant
I fight in this dark era
Fighting "myself"
Wanting to be my "self"
when time is right
A dream will ignite
To see the light
We must deal with the past
And our growth will be delight
Love and light
Will shine through the night
Keeping the monsters away
Though bruises bring rue some days
Day by day
I wish this pain away
