~*It took a while, but seven is here. :D*~
Meghan watched helplessly as she watched her mother trying to get her disembodied figure to wake. She felt a pang of loss and sorrow as she tried so badly to comfort her. She just sat and stared as her mother sobbed and pled for her to wake up. But she never did, and she was beginning to plead right with her.
After about a half-hour of torture, the ambulance finally got to Meghan's house. She tried to hold her mom's hand as they walked beside Meghan's body in the stretcher. They got to ride in the back with her body, but the ride seemed to take forever; the hospital was in the next town. Her mother held Meghan's disembodied figure the whole way there and Meghan watched her tears turn into sobs again. She tried a few times more to comfort her, but failing every time. When they arrived at the hospital, people were running around; trying to hurry to get Meghan's body inside while her mom yelled to get them to hurry before it was too late. Meghan hurried along with them, trying to hold her mom's and her own hand as they went along. They were brought into a strange room where her mother held her hand and said 'I love you' between sobs. Meghan sat in the other chair by her disembodied figure as she stared at the mess she made.
The doctors finally came in and examined Meghan's disembodied figure, trying their hardest to revive her. They suggested her mother go sit in the waiting room a couple times, but she said no every time. After many hours of Meghan watching her mother sob and plead and the stressed doctors working harder and harder to get Meghan to wake up, they finally told the sorrowful news to her mother. She was dead. Meghan stared as her mother sobbed for many hours more. What had she done? How could she be so selfish? She tried to comfort her, but every time her hands just went through her. She never felt more alone in her life. The ambulance drove her mom home, but shipped Meghan's body somewhere. The doctors where trying to calm her down, but with unfruitful use. Meghan could do nothing more than just sit there watching her sob and plead and curse.
They were almost home and Meghan looked at the clock in the ambulance. It was 10:47. She hadn't realized they were at the hospital all night. Class was in session at school. She looked out the window and noticed they were getting close to the school. Meghan knew what she had to do. She turned around and kissed her mother on the cheek; noticing how she shivered because of Meghan's ghostly-cold touch. Meghan sighed and, whispering Goodbye she jumped through the moving ambulance and onto the street. She gasped as a car zoomed down the road, almost hitting her. Her gasp of surprise turned into a gasp of relief as the vehicle moved swiftly through her body and out again. It only tickled her.
Meghan marched confidently to the front door. The red light was on, locked.
"Ugh." Meghan groaned, trying to pull open the doors. Her hand went through the handles; causing her to fall back.
"Oof!" She gasped, getting up and walking through the doors. "Of course, forget that you're not alive anymore for 5 seconds and you're falling on your butt again!" She ran into the walls, looking around each classroom; searching for the class she was looking for. Finally, she got to the class filled with her classmates. It was obvious the teacher had told them about her death, everyone was in a good mood. Meghan's usual seat was taken, so she sat in a plastic chair in the back of the room; waiting for them to sing and dance about how happy they were she was dead. But they never did. After a while, the teacher got a call.
"This should be good! Let's go see who's calling, shall we?" Meghan laughed to herself. She glided gracefully to the phone and put her face to it. The teacher shivered.
"Umm, could you please some down here for 5 to 10 minutes, please? We have some....news." It was the principle.
"Ok....sure. I'll be there in just a couple of minutes" Meghan's old teacher replied tentatively.
"I've always wanted to try this!" Meghan laughed, leaning into her teacher, trying to reach her head to her own. It worked!
"I hope I don't get fired!" her teacher thought. Meghan could read her thoughts! This was great! Leaning out of her body, she listened to what the teacher has to say.
"Okay class, I have to go to the office. Keep having your free-time, just don't be too loud or you will all have detention and a week's worth of homework due tomorrow." She threatened.
"Okay!" Jane called, motioning a halo over her head. The teacher walked out of the room, closing the door. As soon as she heard the clicking of her heels getting softer, Jane stood on the teacher's desk and yelled. "Old lady, go drown in the drinking fountain and never come back!"
"Ooh! Feisty one, isn't she?" Meghan giggled, walking up onto the desk with her. She ran her icy-cold fingers through Jane's back, cackling as she saw her shaking and shivering. "Hmmm....maybe I can do this, too!" Meghan hoped as she leaned into Jane's body, matching how her body was formed. She got up, looking at her hands. Wow! She was Jane!
She walked off the desk slowly, looking at all the laughing students. She walked to Jonathon and slapped him in the face, pushing him off the desk.
Giggling, Meghan leaned back out of Jane's body. But her glory was short-lived as she fell to the ground, screaming. The pain was so unbearable. Meghan writhed and thrashed on the floor, screaming and wailing as the pain got worse and worse. After a while, the pain subsided enough to be bearable to get up and see the destruction she had caused Jane and Jonathon. She laughed more as she saw the hurt on Jonathon's face and the shock on Jane and everyone else's faces.
Meghan decided to try again, but this time on someone different. She walked over to her next victim and leaned into their body, matching their body shape. She was excited to see it worked again. But this time, she was on the floor.....as Jonathon. She was so happy she could do this, and she was ready to humiliate them even more. But before she could get up, the pain shot through her again. She writhed and thrashed on the floor, everyone looking at her.
"Jonathon! What's wrong?!" everyone yelled, trying to pick him up. Meghan realized she was still Jonathon, when the pain was bearable again. She smiled and ran toward the back wall; just as she was about to hit it she leaned out of Jonathon's body, the pain didn't matter to her as she saw Jonathon's pain. Jane ran to his side and tried to pick him up by his shirt. As she was doing so, the teacher came in and noticed the two students by the back wall. She yelled at them and gave them detention. She seemed....stressed. Meghan wondered why. She glided to the teacher and leaned into her head.
"Oh....."She thought, frozen at her place. She managed to stumble to the little chair in the back of the room. She stared at the teacher and waited for her to say the words she knew she would soon say. And then they were there.
"Umm....class, please settle down. I have some.....news. You may not like it.....but ummm......" the teacher hesitated. The class waited patiently, looking at each other hesitantly a few times. "You may notice that Meghan is absent today. Ummmm.....I just got notice that last night.....Meghan committed suicide....she's dead."
