Fear creates a madness
And it spreads like the wildfires
Burning through California
Mindless masses horde mundane things
Toilet paper and toothpaste gone
Wash your hands
Wear a mask
Hide away
Infrastructure shuts down
Stay inside
Stock up
Be afraid
Fear is a drug
More potent than the opiates
And more plentiful that alcohol
We are spoon-fed our fear
Like mother's milk
By our leaders and media
Get your daily dose!
Lock up, lock in
Six feet apart
No physical comfort
Anyone could be infected
Is this a disease or a terrorist attack?
Safeguard the old
Italy stops counting the dead
Borders close
Air traffic stops
Communities in chaos
Stay inside, stay away
Buckle in and pray
And while away the empty hours
In desolate quarantine
Isolate, contain, restrict
Flatten the curve
Don't leave your house!
The world isn't safe
Fear breeds distrust
We're stronger together, aren't we?
The virus forces distance
Invades our every waking thought
Stock market crash
Voluntary layoffs
Essential personnel
What comes first,
A cure or martial law?
