I awoke with a start. Of course with the events that have happened, I had a nightmare. I was walking outside, having no idea the Zombie Apocalypse was happening. I opened the door and stopped dead in my tracks. A person with no arms was standing there. It looked at me, and jumped at me. That’s when I woke up. I looked around the small apartment, everyone was sleeping. I stood up and looked at my almost dead phone. 2%, I sighed and looked at the time. 4 o’clock. I looked around again, wondering why I woke up. The door was opened. I mean, opened wide. I hurried over and looked out; no one was in the hall ways. I gulped, and stepped out. I walked down the hallway to my left, heading away from the entrance to the building. I knew there would be Soldiers, so the farther I walked from the entrance, the more I can discover. I wondered down the hall way when I turned the corner, and walked right into someone. “Sorry.” I whispered. I bumped into a girl; it was dark so I couldn’t see her face. “It’s okay, I’m Alice.” She said, and stepped into some light. She had brown hair that went to her ears and bright green eyes. I stepped into the light also, “Kendrick.” I said with a small smile. She nodded and looked behind me. “I thought my apartment number was 1024.” She said. That explains the door. “Maybe we should ask a guard.” I said, also looking behind her. A green light was radiating from a room a little ways down. She laughed, “Please, I’d rather discover then ask.” She said. I looked at her again, that sounded like something Marcie would say. “Um, okay.” I shrugged and started walking towards the room that caught my eye. She followed with a sigh. I walked up and looked in, there was smoke everywhere and it was freezing. The only thing in there was a tube; yellowish stuff flooded the tube, consuming something inside the tube. “What is it?” I asked Alice, forgetting she knew nothing. But apparently, she did. “A human who got Ebola. That’s what caused the Zombie fiasco happening outside.” She said. “What’s it doing?” I looked at her. She was about to open her mouth when the sound of boots just down the hallway got really close. I grabbed her arm and yanked her into the nearest closet. “What do you mean the body is being devoured by the cure!?” said a familiar voice. “I was just walking by and the body was eaten.” said a girl. Me and Alice peeked out, Bob and a girl was standing right outside the room with glowing green light. I looked at Alice, she leaned in so out heads where almost touching and whispered: “It’s a cure.” I nodded, “Carol, why are the doors even opened!? Do you know how many civilians could have seen this!?” Bob said forcefully. The new girl, Carol, was about Bob’s height and had (black hair?) her eyes where a pale (Blue?) and she was very thin. Bob just grumbled and shut the door, “Make sure all the doors are closed to the Experiments.” He snapped and stormed off Carol trailing after him. I stood up, “Well wasn’t that just interesting.” I mumbled, Alice stood and nodded. “It was.”
I hurried into our Apartment after I got Alice’s room number. She was staying on the second floor, even though she was up high, it was a terrible sight. You could see everything almost, the Zombies at the gates, the broken city, and the Soldiers fighting them off. Everyone was sitting around a laptop Jesse must of smuggled in. I walked over to see what they were looking at. They were watching a video; I could hear sound as I got closer. I sat down next to Kriss and looked at the screen. Zombies upon Zombies flooded the streets of Vegas, tearing apart everything, grabbing chipmunks and squirrels and ripping them to shreds and stuffing them in their mouths. I gagged as dumb person ran out. The Zombies attacked him at once, and he went down, getting shredded. The Zombies tore open his chest, I looked away. Kriss put a hand on my shoulder also looking away. Finally the scene changed, a group of Soldiers where killing a small group of Zombies one by one. Someone opened a gate and they ran in, slamming the gates behind them. “53 Soldiers saved, 149 lost.” Said a voice from the laptop. Then the screen went black. “Did it die!?” I snapped. Everyone looked at me in surprised. “Yeah it did, but I can charge it.” My brother Jesse grumbled. “Okay just so where clear,” Jesse Hammon pointed at himself, “I’m Jesse H, he’s James,” Jesse H pointed at my brother, “And he’s just Jesse.” He said, pointing at my dad. Everyone nodded, and stood up. “I want to explore this place a bit more.” I said, and rushed off. I was at the Elevator when a BOOM! Went off outside, shaking the whole place. I jumped as the lights went out and red lights started flashing. I whipped around and came face to face with Alice. I smiled at her, “Oh, I was just coming up to see you.” I laughed nervously. She smiled, “I don’t think taking the Elevator would be wise.” She said. “RED ALERT! RED ALERT! EVERY PERSON IN THIS BUILDING REPORT DOWN TO THE BASEMENT NOW!” screamed a voice. It made me and Alice jump, but I grabbed her hand and ran over to our Apartment Number. I walked in, no one was in there. My heart almost stopped. I turned around and looked at Alice in panic. She was also panicking, but she kept a steady voice, “W-we need to find the s-stairs.” She said, pulling my along. All of a sudden a huge wave of people came running down the stairs, almost trampling us. We jumped out of the way and stood to the sides. “Let’s just follow them.” Alice suggested, and we went with the flow.
